Request Other Mods/Creations / Simple Item Request
« on: December 23, 2013, 12:46:15 am »
I have a very simple item request. Just some re-textured and re-sized saber teeth.

I would some fairly short saber teeth (like, they stick out of the mouth but don't reach the chin) for the feline model.
I would like them to be more of a faded tan-ish color than white.

I have a few characters that could use this. It would also be nice if you could make an item that only has one of the saber teeth intact, and the other missing (as I have a character who is missing one of her fangs), however this is not necessary.

Game Help / Getting Blender Files in Game
« on: November 29, 2013, 07:44:57 pm »
So I have some files I made in Blender that I would like to bring in game.

The problem with that, however, is I don't know how to convert the files to the "mesh" format so I can put it in the object maker.
Would anyone be willing to help me with this?

Species / The Lolf (Canipanthera Ferus)
« on: November 20, 2013, 07:29:18 am »

The Lolf
Species: Canipanthera Ferus
Family: Feralidae

Nobody knows where they came from or what they are. Nobody knows why they are here, or why they do what they do. But if there is one thing for certain, they are feared. Lions and wolves alike run away from them in fear, they do not have the courage to stand up to these beasts. Even the mightiest and bravest off all creatures eventually give in, and end up wanting their mothers by the end of it all. These creatures do have fangs and claws, but no greater than that of any other animal. The Lolfs have but one weapon. They process a great gift. The gift of annoying.

General Information
Lolfs are a species of Derp native to the magical world of Feral Heart. Lolfs are a little bit bigger than a grey wolf, they have a canine-like build, with long feline tails and whiskers. Their ears are a mix of that of a big cat and a wolf. Males have manes on their heads and running down their backs. Lolfs are thought to be a mistaken genetic experiment, the mistake of mixing a "TLKer" with a "Mate-Center". However nobody knows the true origins of these beasts. Their name, Lolf, is a combination of the word "wolf" and "lion", the two most common derps of Feral Heart.
Lolfs are not carnivores, except when it comes to bacon. Lolfs primarily feast on the annoyance of other animals. Lolfs will surround other animals and yell the phrases "derp" and "herp" until the creatures finally surrender. This is typical Lolf hunting. Lolfs also will eat Doritos. Doritos are considered sacred in Lolf culture. Lolfs worship Doritos gods, and their battle cries and sacred rituals involve chanting "Cool ranch, nacho cheese, cool ranch, nacho cheese..." over and over.
Lolfs live in family groups called Pridepacks. A Pridepack is lead by an Alphaqueen and an Alphaking. All Pridepacks are named the same way, after a typical "goofy" animal. Llama Pridepack is one of the largest of the Pridepacks. Other Pridepack names include things like Kiwi Pridepack, Narwhal Pridepack, and Platypus Pridepack. When Lolfs die, they belive they go to a Pridepack called "Dorito Pridepack".
All Lolfs have a very special system of naming as well. Lolfs are always named after a food. Always. No exceptions. After the food name comes a "F Lolf" or "M Lolf". This is not a tag, but is literately an essential part of the Lolf's name. Lolf's mating rituals play into their names. A Lolf will choose a mate who's food name goes good with their food name. For example, Taco F Lolf and Burrito F Lolf are mates. Other Lolf couples could include French Fries and Hamburger, Cookies and Cupcakes, and Cheese and Sprinkles.
Lolfs are in a huge war with a rival species that goes by the name of "Leachounds", not much is known about them other than they are tiny (earning their other name, the "Minis") and canine-like in form.

Game Suggestions & Ideas / Unlimited Presets
« on: October 30, 2013, 11:35:20 pm »
Really, 12 presets isn't that many. I have so many characters that would be so great with presets, yet only allowing you to have 12 at a time really restricts that.

If Kovu ever gets back, I think the first update that should happen should allow us to more than 12 presets.
I think 50 would be a good number. Of course, most people won't really make 50 presets, but it would allow for much more room.
Of course, unlimited presets would be wonderful as well. Though I doubt that's possible.

Game Discussion / Breaking "Canon"
« on: October 20, 2013, 05:41:44 am »
I don't really think the title works for this, as canon would refer to a published work, but meh, here we go.

Something I've noticed in roleplay is that when people randomly jump into an rp you are doing, or you let them join, sometimes their characters will break the "laws" so to speak of the original roleplay. This can make things very annoying.

The other day I was roleplaying with a friend in a private map (that is public download). We where continuing along a roleplay we had been doing for a while, basically an Area 51 type thing with our alien characters. These characters and the roleplay in general had a pretty strict sci-fi theme (in other words we tried to avoid breaking too many laws of physics xD).
So then another character shows up and sees us roleplaying. She asked if she could join, and not wanting to be rude, we let her.
Turns out her character is a several million year old immortal magical two-tailed canine that could withstand being thrown in a tank full of lava.
It completely ruined the theme of our roleplay. Later a few more people came along and joined in the roleplay without asking. Many of them had "magical" powers and such.

We didn't want to be rude and tell them they couldn't rp with us (we considered moving it into party a few times, but eventually decided not too), but it still broke the laws of the "universe" that governed our rp.

Just want to hear your thoughts on this kind of situation.

Game Discussion / Accused of Powerplaying
« on: October 13, 2013, 11:38:58 pm »
So I was roleplay with a friend, and we where both on alien characters. All of a sudden a lioness runs up too us, and the following went something like:

Ella Lioness: She saw two bizarre looking animals in her territory, and began to slowly stalk towards them.
Padna (My Friend): The equine woman spotted a small animal approaching them. She held her rifle close, this thing better not give her any trouble. She wasn't afraid to shoot if she had too.
Ella Lioness: Powerplayer!

The lioness then ran off. All my friend did was mention the fact she had a gun (keep in mind, she's an alien assassin, so having a gun would make sense), and she got labeled as a powerplayer.
I know I've encountered situations like this is the past, as well, it's very annoying. Anyone else have this happen?

Game Discussion / "Species" Copying
« on: October 05, 2013, 09:22:57 pm »
So, I'm a bit upset with a certain user right now.

I have this character, Queen Animat, who is not really an original species (simply because what she is does not fit the scientific definition of species), yet she is a creature of my creation. With her own traits, like a species would have.

So this person whispers me to ask me if she can make another "Queen", like Animat. I declined, saying I would rather have Animat be the only creature like her. The main reason behind this, is the sheer amount of details behind Animat's "species" (species is not the proper term here, but I can't think of a better one). A lot of them are not really public or in her bio, so you have to ask to know about them.
But anyways, this person went ahead and made the character anyways. Her "species" exactly.
And of course, she got just about everything wrong about her (she made the character black with bright blue markings, which this "species" would never be colored like.)

I know there isn't really much the mods can do about this. But that doesn't take away from how annoying this was.
Anyone else have this kind of thing happen before?

Game Help / Fixing Maps
« on: September 25, 2013, 02:33:57 pm »
You know when maps glitch out and the meshes don't show up?

How do you fix this?
I have tried installing again, uninstalling and re-installing, re-downloading and re-installing etc...
None of it works.

Game Discussion / Villains, "Killers", and Insane Characters
« on: September 17, 2013, 10:06:42 pm »
Today I am going to talk to you all about something I've noticed. Cliche villains and "insane" characters.

We've all seen the "*Insert Name* F/M Killers" running around Feral Heart. And I'm not just talking about Creepypasta characters like Jeff the Killer, this trend of "insane" characters is something you see everywhere in all kinds of roleplay.

Yet these characters are just as cliche and overused as your typical mary-sue.
Really, they are boring.
They absolutely have no motive, which makes them pretty boring bad guys. I mean, even evil characters in kid's shows have motives. Take Nightmare Moon from MLP, a pretty cliched villian (don't kill me bronies!). She had a reason behind her doing (she was overshadowed by her older sister, and jealous of her), she didn't just kidnap Celestia "for da evilz".
Yet these characters on Feral Heart are just evil for the sake of being evil. They don't have any goals, they are just evil. Now, a lot of people try to back this up with saying "they are insane!" Insanity is incredibly difficult to pull off in roleplay. And the majority of these insane killers just run around killing people, that's the only insanity we ever see. Insanity is more than just killing people for no reason. In most cases, an insane killer would kill because they have a twisted world view, which is what would be responsible for them to see killing as alright.

All of my villain characters have motives behind their doings.
Take my character Queen Animat for example. Animat kills people, and her motive behind doing it is incredibly simple. Yet it's not because she's insane, because she most defiantly is not. She is simply programmed to kill in order to survive. She has no other motive. She does not feel any remorse for her victims, yet she is not sadistic and does not enjoy it ether. She kills because it is as natural to her as breathing, and if she did not she would die. It's a base survival instinct.
Two of my other villain characters, Sachee Navera and Oxygen could be considered insane. Yet nether of them just run around killing people simply because they can.
My character Sachee Navera is the queen of an alien nation. She's not so much a character I use in roleplay a lot, as she is a character that some of my other characters will talk about. Her people have been persecuted, abused, and exploited for quite a while now, and it has started a huge war. Sachee is paranoid. She doesn't know who she's going to have to fight, who's going to back-stab her, who's on her side and who's not. This constant paranoia has driven her to the brink of sanity. So her solution  is to destroy the "competition" before it can even become competition. She's terrified and doesn't know what to do. So she kills anyone who shows the slightest hint of being a threat; even if it's just something incredibly trivial.
My character Oxygen could also be classed as insane, but for a different reason. When she was just a child (she's of a fantasy race of my invention, so I often use more "human" terms to describe them), she was blamed for the death of her older brother. She was so young that even though her brother's death was sad, she would get over it. And she did get over it very soon. However as soon as the blame for his death was placed on her, being young and impressionable, she learned that blaming others for your own problems is perfectly acceptable. So now every-time she has a problem, she'll take out her anger on someone else, often quite violently. She was taught (by accident) that using other people as scapegoats is okay, and that has become her world view.

All of my other villain characters have motives behind their evil-doings, as well. And I can guarantee Animat, Sachee, and Oxygen do not consider themselves to be "evil", "killers", or "insane". They see themselves as being the good guys, even though they are far from that.

So yeah, just something I've noticed around FH before.

I'm trying to make a glowing preset. Where not just glowing markings, but the entire preset glows.

Anyone know how to do this?
