Flock of a Feather

Hidden on the Earth, just out in the middle of the ocean - between Japan and Hawaii - there's a group of floating islands. They're high above the ocean, and can be difficult to spot during the sun's lowest positions. On these floating islands - which you may doubt it - there lay living creatures. Creatures that may or may not had existed millenniums ago now populate the floating islands. Besides the fact that they're floating and have special ecosystems altogether, they're not exactly special.
Now, unless you're able to fly, there's no way onto the islands - atleast, not safely if you have a helicopter or something similar. If you find the exact area of which the islands are, you can only gaze up at the roots of plants and - though it's least likely - spot a creature or two. Scientists had. They tried almost everything to get up there, but most attempts only failed and scared away the animals. They did catch a view of multiple of the fleeing animals. What they found astounded them.

Rules

1.) Swearing is allowed, however I do not want it in every other sentence.
2.) Sex and birth is not allowed. Take it to a PM, please - or, better yet, skip over it. Whichever works for you.
3.) You may have up to three characters - that's the limit.
4.) Modern technology does not exist within this role-play. They will have more machinery than actual technology.
5.) Do not argue over OoC. Take it to a PM, or drop it - simple.
6.) Please don't use this role-play thread as a chat thread, there are other ways you can chat.
7.) Try to remain as active as possible, please.
8.) Your character will have flaws, they are not perfect. For example, say they went down into the ocean for about two hours and somehow survived, that's not entirely possible unless your character magically breaths underwater. Or, another example, say your character gets stuck in a machine, they will most likely survive (depending on where they got stuck at, etc.), but will be badly injured. It will take a while for your character to heal.
9.) Try to keep a steady literacy. This is a literate role-play, however typos and other typing mistakes are alright, just make sure it's not in every post.
10.) Try to keep role-play posts atleast four or more sentences. A novel isn't needed, but a good paragraph is.
11.) If you've read the rules, put "Knowledge is key" somewhere in your application.

All Island Species

Pegasus
The winged horse; can range in the same species as horses. Can be tamed as pets.

Harpy
Most are bird-like in body, but have the size and head of a human. Others have more human qualities. Most also have hands.*

Peryton
Deer-like in build, size, coloration, but with bird-like wings and a matching tail.

Dragon
Most are legless and slither around. Very hostile and territorial.

Hippogriff
Half bird of prey and half horse. Highly territorial, but can be tamed as pets.

Pouli
Human in every possible way, besides bird-like wings and bird-like tail.*

The star means that it's a playable species.

Wyndle - also goes by Wyn or Wynd.
"My name's Wyndle, but you can call me Wyn."

Male
"I would, erm, be male, if that answers your question."

Twenty-four-years-old
"I'm twenty-four..."

Pouli
"I would be a Pouli, if it wasn't obvious. Have you seen a Harpy? They look nothing like this."

Optimistic, energetic, and happy-go-lucky are a few things that describe Wyndle. He can have a hard outer shell, depending on the history with him and the other, however he'd risk his own life to save a friend. He can be hard-headed sometimes, but doesn't exactly have the most determined personality within the islands. He finds it hard to get angry, however if he manages to, he normally wears himself out - though he will put up quite a fight in this stage.
"Depends."

He had an average childhood, atleast until the age of twelve when both his parents died of a machinery incident. He and his sister were left with a family friend. About a year later, his sister disappeared - most likely to live with her boyfriend at the time.
"Pretty normal, I guess."

His parents both died from an accident with machinery; he had/has an older sister, however her current status is unknown.
"O-oh... Well... I'd rather not talk about it."

He's allergic to some flowers, though it's only mild.
"Flowers are my enemy."

Kaletho - takes any name given, whether he likes it or not.
"Kaletho, nice to meet you."

Male
"What kind of question is that?"

Seventeen-years-old
". . . Seventeen...?"

Pouli
"You're joking, right?"

Cocky, one-track-minded, and egocentric would be a few words just made for Kaletho. He's pretty flexible with most things, but knows his limits. At a young age, he wasn't exactly told right from wrong, and often treats females as plain sex objects and doesn't respect authority to the limit he should. He has a short fuse, and will often fight to the death if he's angry.
"Pretty sure you can find out."

He was almost always in trouble with everyone but his family during his childhood - though, he never learned anything from that. He grew up in an all-male family, siblings and his father, which never disciplined him. His older brother was the "black sheep" of the family, and left for his own wife. Despite all that, he was a huge troublemaker for his childhood and teen years.
"Ha ha, no."

He never knew his mother, for she had died giving birth to Kaletho; he grew up in an all-male family, with two brothers and his father, that wasn't exactly the best towards woman. All but his mother is alive.
"Does it matter?"
