The American McGee versions are the dark side of the Alice Story. Disney's Alice is a far more kind, sweet, happy-go-lucky version of it. And then the Alice Movie with Johnny Depp in it was kind of in the middle of the two, and I think maybe a little closer to the original books.
Although, I love the American McGee story to bits and pieces.. even though Cheshire Cat still gives me nightmares every once in a while.
