Request Maps / A map request, if anyone would like to try?
« on: March 26, 2013, 01:18:51 am »
So, I'm making an rp based on a sort of after-nuclear winter, centered around two races, which are like humanoid hyenas (the two tribes being striped and spotted), and so I need a map, to avoid any trolls wandering around South Pole. I'd like for it to be snowy, with it being mostly flat, like plains. However, could I have some hills here and there, and maybe a mountain? It's basically Africa during an Ice Age. I'd also need two town-like areas, possibly with some buildings buried in the snow. If you need any more details, feel free to ask me!

Request Maps / Map Request!!!
« on: December 09, 2012, 03:43:03 pm »
Hi there, talented mapmakers of this forum! I need to call upon your skills for my rp. It is going to be a tribal rp, a war between the Short-Eared Dogs and the Bush Dogs. So I'm going to need a South American themed map, preferably with a land mass like one of the old Incan temples. I'll need two camp sites, and maybe a few isolated places for loners. Instead of say, a river cutting through it, I'd like for there to be a U-shaped lake in the center. I also need something resembling two religious sites, like two temples, almost. One for one tribe, and one for another.

Thanks, and I hope this map isn't troublesome!

Introduction...

Deep, far away from the hustle and bustle of Fluorite Plains is a small island. Not many know of this place, save for the pilgrims wishing to visit the island specifically. On this island, known to few as "Alteria", lies the seminary known by two names; Damadas, or the Rune Citadel. Damadas is a medium sized temple-city on Alteria, home to scholars of every shape and species. It has been a peaceful place for years upon years, the animals developing traits to help them with tasks such as writing, and creating things regular animals would only dream of. That is what this academy is to many, a dream, a story to tell their young after a difficult day of hunting or grazing. But the Rune Citadel is real. It's problems are real...and it all began with the Prophet, "Merry-go-round".

Quote
"If we do not find a way to reincarnate the Twin Gods onto the Earth, then Damadas will meet a horrible fate. The gods are angry, and only they can save us..." - Prophet Merry-go-round

This dire prediction jump-started the race to find a way to revive the two gods. Priests prayed vigorously, the scholars pored over their ancient tomes and scrolls to find any instance of this in the past. Scientists started experimenting as well, creating mechanical vessels for their Masters, or trying to find other ways. Not only do they want to save the life all of us have forged in this land, there is a prize for the one who discovers a way to create a physical incarnation of the Twin Gods. The one who finds the way will become the Ruler of the country, and will be honored as the kingdom's hero for ages to come.

Your goal in this rp can...fairly enough, be anything. As long as it makes sense and abides by my rules, I'm fine with it. You are merely to either survive the harsh times, or correct them.

--------------

Rules...

As in all rps, there are some ground rules of mine you must follow. Failure to comply with my terms will result in three warnings, and with the third, comes with a suspension. If you fail one more time after your suspension is over, you will be expelled from my rp immediately. Please, in your joining form, answer in the other's section that you have read and understood this paragraph, and the rules you will read below. I hope we can get along just fine, and that this rp will come along swimmingly.

  • Literacy: Please be as literate as you possibly can in this rp. I do not like one sentence posts, and I definitely despise the little asterisks (**) around your actions. Please rp as if you were writing a story, since that is basically what you are doing.
  • Activity: I would love for you to be as active as is allowed on Feral Heart. I understand things such as being grounded, going on vacation, the server being down, or schoolwork needing to be done. Trust me, I understand entirely. However, this is not a valid excuse to join on the first day this is open, then never come back, yet I see you all the time on the server. I will not be happy, and an unhappy Karakuri is not a fun one.
  • Swearing, Gore, and Romance: Honestly, I'm not a very squeamish person. However, there is that fine line between going totally overboard to where the mods are smiting this rp and being within the rules. This is a more mature rp for an older audience, so I can tolerate your character being a potty mouth, or someone getting detailed in a fight, or...if you keep it to whisper or find somewhere to hide in Local where I can't hear you, having...er...inappropriate actions. Although, if I catch this, or it's just so blatant and in everyone's faces, I will warn you. If this continues to be a problem, or upsetting to other members, then I will have to expel you from the group. You have been warned.
  • Mary-Sues, Gary-Stues, Powerplaying, and Godmodding: Is your character the best in the rp? The only hope for the civilization to thrive? Stop it. Right now, and kill it with fire. Everyone has the fair chance to find the solution in this rp, and every character has their own special skills and talents. However, you cannot and will not have everything handed to you.
  • Map Usage: You must be a member of the rp to access the map. Otherwise, I will promptly report you to a moderator, and that would make me sad, and you angry. Please take the time to join this rp that I'm taking the time to type up for you, so that we can be happy and love one another, alright?
  • Trolling, Flaming, or Spamming: The bullying of others bothers me greatly, so leave the fighting and drama for in-character, shall we? That will keep everything running as smoothly as possible, and will keep people happy. However, if you want a raging feud against another character...I'm all for it!

Culture...

Religion:

  • Levia: The female of the "Twin Gods". She is portrayed as a white wolf with ice-colored eyes. Levia is the goddess of poetry, art, and song, as well as a symbol of life, light, and the sun. It is more common for Levia to be praised more than her brother, and she is seen as the "good" twin. Offerings towards her are usually things such as flowers or harvest. She can be seen as either quarreling with her brother, or being in perfect sync with him, and is the younger twin.
  • Behemo: The male of the "Twin Gods". He is portrayed as a black wolf with purple eyes. Behemo is the god of science, logic, and rhetoric, as well as a symbol of death, darkness, and the moon. While he is praised, Behemo is seen as more negative than his sister, and is seen as more "destructive". Offerings towards him are usually burnt food or precious gems. He can be seen as either quarreling with his sister, or being in perfect sync with her, and is the older twin.

Religion is fairly important to Damadas, even if they have scientists amongst their ranks. The twins are seen as important just for daily life to go on. There is a harvest festival every year on the first full moon of autumn, as well as a festival for the changing of the seasons on the 21st days of March, June, September, and December. Priests are regarded as prophets and very influential in society.

Government:

Government is fairly simple in this society, with the Royal Family of the King, Queen, and their heir, and then a council of four to keep them in check. The army doubles as a police force, and is rather diminutive in size, and is called the Millenary.

Species / Dream-Eating Monochrome Baki
« on: October 26, 2012, 06:38:01 pm »

Dream-Eating Monochrome Baki

The Dream-Eating Monochrome Baki [sing. Baku] (Canis Alba Nigra) is a species of Canid native to the wilderness and remote areas of Asilia, Ficho Tunnel, and Fluorite Plains. Males average to grow to about 43-47 kg, with the females being slightly smaller, adults averaging in to about 38-41.3 kg. It is similar in body physique to that of a grey wolf, or other large canines, but has a deeper chest and long, slender legs built for running at top speeds of 46 mph. The fur of a Monochrome Baku is usually long, but thin and sleek, and is usually shades of grey, black, or white in coloring.

Within the genus Canis, Monochrome Baki are deemed much more advanced than their wolf, coyote, and domestic cousins, as demonstrated by their higher endurance, intelligence, and speed. While it didn't undergo the morphological adaptations a wolf did, it went under some changes of it's own, such as larger ears and thinner, longer tails for communication, and the fangs they use to feed with. It is a social animal, traveling in a large group of family members and strangers alike, in a fashion similar to a kingdom, lead by the King and Queen, then closely kept in line with Officers and the like. It feeds mostly on the essence of various dreams, but has been shown capable of eating smaller animals, such as fish, rabbits, and mice.

Anatomy

The Monochrome Baku is a slender, wily animal with a large, deeply descending ribcage and a sloping back. It's abdomen is pulled in, and it's neck is moderately muscled. It's limbs are long and well muscled, with wide shoulders and tapering paws leading to five toes on the front paws, and four on the back. Compared to wolves, Baku are smaller and thinner.

The Baku's head is small and light, with a short, tapering muzzle and a wide forehead and strong jaws. Their ears are longer and triangular, and it's teeth are mostly small (more suitable for eating small prey) with four sharp, needle-like fangs that help them harvest their fill of dreams.

The Baku normally carries it's head up high, unless stalking prey, and it travels with a trotting pace, lifting it's paws high as if cantering.

Base coat color ranges from white to black, with varying patterns of in between shades of grey. There can be no color in their coat besides black, grey, and white, hence the name "Monochrome". The eye color of the offspring, (often referred to as cubs) are generally colorless, usually exhibiting a faint shade of color of the color their eyes may be. Fully mature Baki usually have brightly colored eyes of a single color, with the usual whites of the eyes being black, and the slitlike pupil the same. To all Mary-Sues: Baki eyes can NOT change color with mood. EVER. Baki hate the irregular, so any signs of this would be killed at birth. You have been warned. There is NO acceptance!

Behavior

Social and Territorial Behaviors

Although some Baki are solitary, they've proven to be highly social in behavior, living in units of up to thirty members. The basic social unit of the pack is divided into three archs; The Monarchs and their Offspring, The Elders and the Sages, and the Guards and Hunters. In ideal conditions, the elder offspring of the Monarchs will succeed their parents after choosing a mate, and any others would become either Sages, or Lords/Ladies, put almost on the same arch as their sibling. They are generally open to newcomers, but are defensive over their host pack, or the pack of wolves or other such animals that they feed from. They are rather nomadic in nature, either just wandering aimlessly, or following their prey. They are monogamous, having a mating pair for life. They can give birth once every two years to a single (or rarely) two pups.

Vocal Communication

Monochrome Baki are capable of many sounds, such as growling, snarling, barking, small chuffing noises, whines, and loud whoops....and even cackling. However, they do not have the vocal capability to howl, therefore, they do not howl.

Subspecies

There are two subspecies of Monochrome Baki, and pups can be born as either, regardless of ancestry:
  • Nightmare Baki: are Baki who consume the Nightmares of their prey, and will sometimes leave Dreams for them. However, asking for Dreams means you pay a small price on the whim of the Baki. Long term supplies of Dreams to a single prey will result in the Baki probably asking higher, riskier prices...again on their imagination. These Baki are usually mainly white in coloration, but it can vary.
  • Dream Baki: are Baki who consume the Dreams of their sleeping prey, and leave Nightmares. This subspecies is generally seen as more harmful, and are liked less than their counterparts, even if they're both relatively parasitic. They do not make deals with their victims, and just feed when available. Generally darker in color, but lighter pelts are acceptable.

I will have screenshots up as soon as Feral Heart comes back online.

Use and Creation

The name and diet of the Monochrome Baki come from the song, "Dream-Eating Monochrome Baku", by Len Kagamine. Everything else, from the design to the social structure, belongs to me, so while I encourage the conservation of the great Baki, please do not claim them as your own. Please also note that if they don't follow the above specifications, they are not Baki. Please, if you have created one, tell me below!

History of the Tai'pol...

They say there lives a society of wolves...deep in the forests of An'acho, where few dare to venture. Unlike most wolf packs, who toiled with day to day life just to find food and fight off predators, the wolves of this pack pursue knowledge, and are closely human-like in nature. While not standing on two legs, they are rumored to have abilities such as writing, crafting, drawing, and other such arts. It is a mostly peaceful place, since they rarely venture from their sanctuary to meddle with the affairs of others of their species, except for small pilgrim groups, or a lone traveler. But lately...trouble in the form of prophecy has stirred up the society, striking fear in the hearts of many, and a grim determination in others. How much longer will the Elder Society last? Their fate is in your capable paws, young Tai'pol.

An'acho's Lands...

The land of An'acho is a small, island nation, mostly covered in forests and streams, with beaches around the edges. However, there are a few regions you must come to know of:

  • Nemu Village: Located in the middle of An'acho, Nemu Village is where most of the Tai'pol live, and is the only "town" on the island. Rather small, but it also contains the shops and most of the places where the Tai'pol work and gather, as well.

  • The Scar: Considered haunted by most of the Tai'pol, "The Scar" is a burnt stretch of ground. This is a reminder of a massive fire that blazed along this region of the island long ago. Full Moon Laboratories is located here.

  • Full Moon Laboratories: This is where many scientists work, figuring out things to make the life of the Tai'pol better, and assuaging their own curiosities. Full Moon Laboratories is also where Project ?MA? and other projects are held. It is located on the Eastern side of the island, inside The Scar.

  • Moonlit Pool: More of a...romantic point on the island, this is just a small, clear, shallow pool on the Northern point of the island that is away from the views of the prying Tai'pol.

  • House of Ancients: The House of Ancients is sort of like a shrine on the Northern part of Nemu Village, dedicated to the Tai'pol's two divinities, Levia and Behemo.

  • Courthouse: As the name says, this is where the Monarch and the Council create laws and judge the crimes of the accused. Also located in Nemu Village.

    --Map Coming Soon!--

    Government and Religion...

The government of the Tai'pol consists of a family of monarchs, and a small Parliament under it which is elected by the citizens. The monarchs rule by divine right, but their laws are monitored carefully by the Parliament. It is a unitary government, meaning that this is the only branch of law in the society, and they are responsible for keeping the order. The citizens of Tai'pol also enjoy the free enterprise system, which means they get to run their own businesses without much restraint from the government. Their currency is a small bronze coin called an Udeli.

The religion of these wolves differ from their brethren in the fact that besides a small respect for ancestors, they don't view them as gods or anything. While different religious views are accepted, the main religion on the island is Levian, which involves the "Twin Dragon Siblings", Levia and Behemo. Levia is often the Elder Sibling, a white female dragon who is capricious and childish, but will defend her people. Behemo is the younger black dragon, calm, stern, and fair.

    Laws and Rules...

    Rules for the RP:

    • No Godmodding, Powerplaying, or General Mary Sues: I will not accept you if your wolf is perfect, overpowered, or unbeatable in any way. Godmodding, Powerplaying, and Sues are a pet peeve of mine, and I will not stand for them being in my rp. Also, when fighting, if you do, then don't just one-hit kill someone, dodge all attacks, and have all of your attacks hit. Unless you're fighting, say, a pup, or you're a pup fighting an adult, both sides would sustain injuries. Also, don't tell me your wolf is 'pretty', 'hot', 'sexy', 'beautiful', or the like. TELL me what they look like!

    • Please be Literate: Another peeve of mine is literacy. Please don't traipse in here with bad grammar, text talk, and the like. I understand mistakes sometimes, but seriously?

    • Ask me if you want to start something big: Want to have another project pertaining to the prophecy, or another that's sort of outlandish? PM me and I'll see if it's good for this rp. Want to start a revolution? Great. Just PM me on here, and if you can get people to follow along, then more power to you! I'm open to ideas, just ask!

    • Keep secret things secret: Honestly, this should just be common sense, but it doesn't seem to be on Feral Heart. If you're starting a revolution, working in a black market, or have a secret lover you're not supposed to have...don't advertise it on General! It's more fun to have someone walk in on it, or spy on it on accident, than it is for EVERYONE to see it coming!

    • Follow the Lore: Please just do that for me? Follow all of the stuff I worked so hard to create?

    • Romance and Gore: I'd like for people to be a little more mature in this rp. The romance thing falls along with the "Keeping Secrets Secret" rule. If both of you want to get all freaky with it, go off somewhere on the map and keep it in whisper or local. Otherwise, we probably don't want to hear it! As for gore, there might be blood in this rp, and can get pretty graphic, so I'd like this rp cast to be mature about it.

    • Activity: I understand school, extracurriculars, homework, groundings, and the like, but honestly, if you're in this rp, please try to make an effort to be on it pretty often!

    • Character Count: While in-game, this will not be held under a singular group, instead, if you have a separate group to make (ask me first!) that pertains to my rp, then you'll make the group, and you'll be able to find the map link here. So character count is unlimited, as long as you make their forms on here, and you don't go nuts with it.

      Laws for the Society:

    • Do not kill another wolf unless you can prove it was in self defense: While usually penalized by execution, higher officials can get away with paying a lofty fine.

    • Do not steal: This is usually penalized with a moderate fine, judging on the severity.

If you have more laws you'd like me to add, just tell me!

      Terms for the RP...

      • An'acho: The name of the island.

      • Tai'pol: How the wolves of An'acho refer to themselves.

      • Project MA: MA is short for "Mem Aleph", or "Mother of the Gods". This is the name of the project run by Seth TwiRight in order to fulfill the prophecy. So far, no results have been successful for this research team.

      • The Prophecy: The prophecy states that An'acho will fall into darkness if the "Twin Gods" are not reborn. This is gotten several professions, such as scholars, priests, scientists, and politicians vying for the solution, since these young gods would be under their influence, and the current monarch has stated that if someone is able to resurrect them, then they will gain the position of monarch. There are also a few people doing this out of the good of their hearts, since they don't want to fall under darkness.

        Character Forms...

Desert Bluebird

"Too good to be true?"

Note: This, although I've changed it a little, isn't fully mine, and is more of a fanfic of some songs I like, Desert Bluebird, and A Faint Wish.

Prologue: A Letter from "Clockworker"

This is the Story of the End...should I tell you everything I know? My name is Elluka Clockworker. I was once one of the best witches in the country, and I still assume the others are alive somewhere. But we'll get to that later. This letter is supposed to prepare you for the events happening right now. With our hopes and dreams banked on two things, we need all the help we can get, really. I guess I should start explaining, right?

The world as you knew it? Yeah. In shambles. Complete ugly mess. And unlike it normally is...it's not my fault. Witch's honor. TOTALLY had nothing to do with me- well...maybe it had a tiiinnny bit to do with me. Anyways, humans are endangered and in hiding. From what? The "New Humanity", also known as the nothing like humans Androids. The government had originally came up with the idea to "save resources". Yeah, because that plan totally worked. Because of the pollution the "Operation" had caused, the world is a desert wasteland. All for what? A body that couldn't feel pain? Oh sure, people flocked in millions to make the change at first...but then they realized what was happening. For the body that didn't shed tears or feel pain...they could feel nothing at all. Families no longer caring for one another, lovers no longer in love, friends no longer having any desire to help their former comrades. That's when it all started. The Revolution, and our solution to the "little problem" we're having.

[This is WIP, but you can comment on the stub, if you like!]

So I was reading Vii's story about his/her visit to Africa and teaching the children and restoring homes...and I want to try to help like that. However, I can't take a trip to Africa, even if I want to. So is there a way I could maybe send emails to someone, or drawings, or do something nice for them?

This is for any band geeks on here! I wanna know if other bands are as wacky as mine, so I'll start:

1.) Don't feed the eighth graders, they follow you around for the rest of your career.

2.) Doesn't matter if you two hate each other on the band field or on a regular school day. During competitions, and when someone's picking on you, these guys have your back.

3.) It is perfectly normal to lock your friends in drum-lockers, tape them to chairs, and heft them up on top of a shelf.

    Dear Wolfaboos,
Karakuri here, with a complaint. Yesterday I was rping on FeralHeart, as I always do, when all of the sudden, my human character was randomly mauled by rabid wolves. I presume they were of the Boo Species, since they called me an "evil hyoomin, and said that I was never supposed to have walked the Earth." Of course, spelled in worse terms than the ones I have posted here. But that's beside the point. I could have understood this attack if I have provoked the boos, maybe with a fight, maybe pretending to hunt them, or anything of that matter. However...I didn't. I was just sitting there, whispering to a friend, when all of a sudden, I'm attacked by five or more brightly colored "wolfs" that are "figting 4 there rite 2 life safly." And they for the reallies typed it like that. So, after I finished verbally debunking all of these morons' theories, I was mad. Normally, I find your kind, wolfaboo, to be hilarious. However, last night I lost four entire hours of my rping time arguing with  small children who thinks that their spirit animal is a 'wulf', that they can transform at nighttime into such, and whom wants to seriously kill of the entire human race (which is genocide, really), and spells like they have only been in school for thirty minutes, and are failing it horribly. I didn't catch the names of these morons, as I was intent on arguing, and I probably wouldn't have remembered it this morning anyways. However, I would sincerely like for you all to shut up, get a reality check, and get a life. Wolves (yes, WOLVES, not 'wolfs') are not the best animals in the world, and I do not like being verbally abused, caps-spammed, and insulted to the point of rage JUST because I love rping as a HUMAN. Now, I find myself emotionally very strong, and my feelings were not hurt at all by these b'aaaawing retards. However, think of what would happen if you idiots attacked a smaller, less confident child. Also, if you were one of the ones bullying me last night, please own up and apologize for wasting my dang time. I won't report you to a mod...just own up, and say you're sorry, so I can let bygones be bygones. Toodles, you jerks -- Kara
