help! can't see other people's presets! [RESOLVED]

so I've encountered this problem and have been digging around to avoid creating a topic with an issue that already has an answer. but alas nothing I tried helped!

basically, all I see in-game are white characters that lack their presets. I've tried downloading PresetSync, uploading my preset onto the server via "user panel" as instructed (some people can't see my preset but some can?), tried downloading some commonly used ("legendary markings v4") markings and putting them into the texture folder of the game, and... nothing, still.

perhaps someone can help? here is what I see:

I'm not sure if I can be of help, but I am aware you must put the legendary markings within the Markings folder located in the Textures folder. I'm not sure if this would affect it because I had recently screwed my feralheart (#Mac) so I can not test the theory beforehand.

Hey there, the white things are not presets.
They are markings that you don't have.
You need to download Legendary Markings again in order to see these people.

You are supposed to put files in FeralHeart->Media->Textures->MARKINGS

And the markings.cfg file in Feral Heart folder!

Side note: whether or not people can see the preset you uploaded onto the sync depends on whether they installed the sync themselves ^^
