I never really liked anime until I watched Deadman Wonderland, it's what got my friends and I into anime. There is so much I've yet to watch, I've even made a huge list of the ones I want to see next. The ones I like usually have a lot of blood, violence and profanity in it. I used to watch Fruits Basket and Vampire Knight every now again a few months back.
I could recommend a few but most of them are not appropriate for everyone.
- Deadman Wonderland
- Higurashi: When They Cry
- Death Note
- Black Lagoon
- Mirai Nikki (I'm at episode 7, so far it's pretty cool)
- Code Geass
- Fullmetal Alchemist
- Black Butler (I've yet to watch that)
Those are my favourites but again, they're not for everyone. Most of them are listed as "horror, thriller, mystery, action and supernatural".
