Some Fursuit Help?
« on: March 06, 2015, 09:59:23 pm »
My friend and I are making fursuits just for fun, and I need help on making some stuff without going over a 100$ budget. Because of his, I'm going to do a head only for now. I can't do resin (because that's usually expensive and I cant sculpt with resin) and taxidermy things. I do sculpt with clay, but only Sculpy (I usually can't afford other stronger clays). I was going to try to do a cat, wolf, or fox, and I already have some examples of their anatomy in my house (I have a full coyote skeleton and half a cat skeleton). I just want to know how to do a head (making one and furring it), and possibly a tail.

even creating a proper head can cause more than 100$ due to the faux fur, eye material, jawset, etc.

you may need to buy stuff from the internet because finding the supplies locally is difficult.

Fursuits normally cost quite a bit but you could check out Fursuitsupplies.com they have premade fursuit parts and things to make a fursuit. I'm not sure if it would help you find supplies without going over your budget or not but i wish you luck with making a fursuit.

I'd recommend going with foam rather then sculpty, you can use sculpey for the teeth. foamies and buckram are usually pretty inexpensive. as for cost, good luck with staying below 100$; I'm working on a friend's partial and we've managed to keep it under 400$ so far
