Game Discussion / Group Invite Gone Wrong
« on: April 16, 2017, 07:51:41 pm »
Has anyone ever been invited to a group, only to be told to completely re-create your character or get out?

Sadly, I have. Just yesterday. The alpha of that wolf pack invited me into the group, but then decided that my character wasn't allowed to have any of his memories, so I had to either one-hundred percent change him, or leave. After already being invited. I did not ask to join them, I was asked by the alpha to join- Just to get that major, key point across.

Have any of you had similar experiences? Considering I'm basically still a new member, joined in March this year, I'm hoping this isn't something that has only happened to me. So share your unfortunate stories, if you have them.

Ask Me / Ask Xenek's Crew
« on: April 08, 2017, 04:12:58 am »
So, let's get the boring stuff out of the way, first...

My name is Xenek, I live in my mind, my number is mine. Those are basically the only personal questions that can't be asked, or answered, so those are the answers you get for them ;D

Now, I'm not one for the boring stuff, so I'm about to spice up what an ask thread is. Ready for this? No? Oh well.

You get to ask me, and all my characters, whatever your heart desires as long as it obeys the forums laws. Yep, my characters are included. I did say I was gonna spice things up, after all. Oh, and don't mind if they give useless chatter along the way. The guys and gals from the demon world all had a human form they could shift to, since that's how that world works, so feel free to question them about human stuff as well.

To help you guys know who's who, we're all color-coded.

This is me, obviously.

This is Yvis.
This is Lenora.
This is Velira.
This is Rayna.
This is Zixar.
And this is Vilarion

Vel was gonna be black and Vilarion a deep gray, but those colors just can't really be read too easily on this forum. Oh well, the colors they have still work for them, regardless. Oh, and if you don't know who the characters are, you can find out very easily by going to my Character Thread.

So let the questioning begin!

Game Help / Crashing
« on: April 04, 2017, 11:51:51 pm »
Okay, could use a little help, here...

I can log on just fine, but most of my characters can't load. I could load in with one that was in The Grounds, but crashed the second I tried going to Seaside Grove. Since then, I've had nine crashes trying to get onto that character. Another character that is located in Cherika Valley loads just fine, no crash. But other characters in other maps have the same issue- the game crashes after I select them.

I have not messed with any files at all. The only added files are the legendary markings, and they've worked without issue since downloading that pack. The preset download is the only other download I've made for the game. Again, no issues have come up with it since downloading it.

Any ideas on what went wrong?

Forum Suggestions & Ideas / More General Roleplay Child Boards
« on: March 28, 2017, 03:41:21 am »
The idea, after some thought and back and forth, is to add new child boards to the General Roleplay forum.

The child boards that could be added would be Canine Roleplay, Feline Roleplay, and Misc. Roleplay (Or Miscellaneous if using the more commonly used abbreviation wouldn't work).

Canine Roleplay, as the name itself suggests, would be for any canine specie roleplays. Winged or otherwise, real or otherwise. Feline Roleplay would be the same, but for the felines species. The Group Roleplay board that already exists could be split into two, one for Canine Packs and the other for Feline Prides (names could be different, but the idea is there) for the different groups, whereas the species boards would allow for anyone with that specie character, so even the loners have a place to enjoy some roleplaying.

A Misc. Roleplay board would allow for the mingling of any and all species; Canine, feline, basically anything so long as the roleplay is based within the FeralHeart world. After all, some people have created dinosaur characters, and others have even created unicorn characters. Why leave them out of the fun, right? Of course, as the non-feline or -canine species are few and far between, the board would mainly be for them, just with the bonus of allowing those other odd characters to join in if they want to and the roleplays allow them.

Game Suggestions & Ideas / The Chat
« on: March 25, 2017, 04:26:18 am »
My idea for the chat is to have a limit for how many posts are remembered by the game. Limiting how many posts you can scroll through would allow everyone to actually scroll through everything without several posts at a time not being seen due to the overload of just how many there are.

I just ran into this issue earlier today while roleplaying- a few different people posted at the same time, long posts, and it was incredibly difficult to see what the first one said, due to it being skipped to one from before that. Not only are entire posts skipped once the game has been open for a while with posts continuing to come in, but a sentence or two within a single post ends up being incapable of being seen until more people post, moving that specific one into just the right position to actually see all of it.

If you want to have the game remember absolutely everything said, then limit the amount of posts the current chat window can have on it, adding a "see older chats" option at the top that can open a new window that shows everything that has been said.

Or, if the amount of posts isn't the issue, possibly edit the scrollbar to be easier to use. For example, like the one this forum and typically all of the internet uses - it gets smaller as there is more to see, and slides fluidly instead of in the a block-like fashion that the game currently has.

Forum Suggestions & Ideas / World Story
« on: March 15, 2017, 03:23:43 am »
Just a suggestion, though the title could probably be more accurate if I knew the right words to use.

So, we have Feral-Heart, a game and forum meant for enjoying the glory of roleplaying. There is one issue with this, however... The world has no background whatsoever. None that I've been able to find, at least. The roleplay section of this forum is limited to RPs that are advertised that are on completely different, user-created forums, and advertisements for locating a group or mate. This, in my opinion, is a bit sad. Instead of a roleplay board, it's merely an advertisement board.

Thus the idea for a story for the world. A background. So people can begin roleplaying here on the forum as well as in the game, why not host a small competition, or something, for creating a background for this world. Is this world the world we live in? With winged wolves and felines, I highly doubt it. So why not give the FH world a name of its own, along with a history of its own.
Naming the world should probably be separate from the history/story, more of a poll for which name the users find more suiting to the world, instead of a competition like for finding a good story to use.

With an actual idea of where we all are in this world, RPs could start up here in the forum with so much more ease. As it is, the only option we truly have is to be in the game or figure something out at random that has nothing to do with the characters we have for this game. From what I can see, throwing characters into the Warrior Cats world and several different anime worlds are the most common. Giving FH a world of its own would inspire users to have RPs for this world, instead of wondering what they should do, using myself as an example.

Another benefit of FH having its own world and story for the world, for those like myself anyway, would be coming up with a good backstory for characters that get made. The best I've been able to do is throw one of my characters through a portal to "end up in a strange land." Why is it strange? The only reason the world is strange to said character is because it isn't her world. There's no actual way to know what's in this world, at the moment. Once an actual world and story is around to use, characters can be created with a backstory that actually goes along with the world they've been created for.

My apologies if this is posted in the wrong board. Being an idea for both the game and the forum, though having more to do with the forum, I could only assume this was the right place.

Game Suggestions & Ideas / Arrow Buttons
« on: March 11, 2017, 07:28:14 pm »
I looked at a bunch of the older threads and did not see this idea anywhere. If it was already stated, my bad.

In the character creation part of the game, there are a lot of different markings to choose from. Especially after downloading the markings pack in order to not see almost everyone as being only white. My idea is to add arrow buttons to the sidebars so that the markings can be looked through without possibly skipping a bunch of them and not even knowing it. Or perhaps make it possible to use the arrow keys to go through them. Having use of only the sidebar slider makes it difficult, in my opinion. Creating my first character was simple enough, not having the markings pack downloaded- but once those were downloaded and I made another? It was a very, very slow, and cruel, process of going through all the possibilities.

Perhaps this is just my view due to being a new member, since most everyone already has their characters made. I just thought I should put this out there just in case it can help make things easier on anyone.

Introduction / Saying Hello
« on: March 09, 2017, 04:24:39 pm »
Hello, everyone here at Feral-Heart that is actually reading this!

I am Xenek, a new member with a love of roleplaying but no experience so far in anything that isn't with a human or a dragon. Or a Pokemon, actually. So I'm looking forward to seeing how it will be to play out a wolf and feline!

A friend told me about this site, saying it was a fun place to be. He probably meant only the game part, considering how he is, but I figured I'd see about enjoying the community as well.

For those who want to know more about me, I love watching anime, gaming, reading, and peace and quiet. The last bit only because my cat loves to meow at me to keep me awake at night, haha. Almost any and all genre of anime, I watch. Favorites though, would have to be Code Geass, Tsubasa Chronicles, FullMetal Alchemist, Trigun... Okay, too many to list, but those are a few of them. Though I love gaming, I stick to only a few- Guild Wars 2 being my main game of choice.

Considering I have no idea how to go about writings up a proper intro, I'd like to think this is a decent one.

Hope to enjoy the game and the new people I'm obviously going to run into!
