Game Suggestions & Ideas / pelt/marking color swap button
« on: December 22, 2017, 03:36:19 am »
Title says it all. IDK about you guys, but I always figure out a great color scheme and then feel like i want to swap it around, and then it's really a hassle to go back and forth with the exact color code numbers. I wonder if adding a new button is impossible without the SC.

Hey guys! I'm back and I'm makin' maps again! I was fooling around in mapmaker and I really liked the end product, soooooooo I decided to make it a public map! It's actually relatively small in size but it features 4 densites and some ~~hidden easter eggs~~, as I always put into my maps ;) I hope you guys like it!

Game Discussion / how do you feel about groups with lots of strict rules?
« on: December 08, 2017, 04:23:22 pm »
I have noticed throughout my years of playing FH that often times the most popular groups (normally packs) will have a downright absurd amount of rules. Maybe it’s just a side effect from staying an active group for so long and experiencing players that do things that require more rules to be put in place. However, a lot of times i find myself wondering how practical the rules really are. It feels like some groups lose the sense of creativity and spontaneity that comes with roleplay by imposing strict rules on ranks, ranking up, activity levels, sparring, aging up, size and color restrictions, blah blah blah. What do you guys think?

Game Discussion / this is a mapmaking PSA.
« on: December 07, 2017, 10:32:56 pm »
Hey guys. Now i'd like to start by saying that I have created and seen and explored a good share of maps made for this community. This isn't my first rodeo. I've been joining mapped groups for years and somehow nobody has even mentioned the problem I come across time and time again.

I see these big, huge, beautiful maps and I'm here for it and I really appreciate the art, but there's still a huge problem that gets constantly overlooked.

These maps crash my computer because they are so extra, and often times for no good reason. How many times have you seen an absolutely gargantuan map with 10 ferns per square inch (looking at you, warrior cat maps), only to consistently stay in the same one spot for 90% of the roleplay? I don't know about you guys, but I'm done having my PC get crashed by hundreds of ferns in a map that I will literally never see. And, hey, don't get me wrong, i ADORE these maps for their beauty and the time and effort that was put into them. However, for the sake of practicality, the practice needs to stop. I've had to leave groups because I couldn't even get into the map. This is a brand new thousand dollar i7 core pc. This shouldn't be happening.

Now, furthermore, I'm not gonna be a little debbie downer. I want to be helpful by offering solutions and alternatives to this problem.
for starters, a lot of lag can be avoided by turning view distance all the way down and turning off water reflection. That's often not enough, though. FELLOW MAPMAKERS, i encourage you to find creative solutions. Try using more default meshes, or just less meshes altogether. Try thinking about what parts of the map people will see the most as opposed to the parts they'll never see. Another great idea is to make densites and camps into mini-maps and then link them to a main map. This way, you can go crazy with the meshes near camps, and it won't fart on your PC because it's such a tiny space.

TL;DR, be smart when making maps. nobody can appreciate your creative genius if the map crashes on them before they can even get into it. Go forth and be artists, my loves :*

Site/Forum Help / Account issue and registration question
« on: August 19, 2016, 11:30:29 pm »
So my friend has not been on the game for quite some time and is having troubles logging in to the new login page. I looked at Raz's post and we narrowed the problem down to her account itself. Is it possible that she was banned for extended inactivity? If that is the case, when will registration open back up again for her to make a new account?

Site/Forum Help / yeah...what just happened?
« on: January 17, 2016, 10:10:41 pm »
The website was down entirely for like 20 minutes? It was earlier but IDK why there hasn't been some kind of announcement about it or something. Was it just for a few people, or?

Game Discussion / What Are Your FeralHeart Pet Peeves?
« on: January 05, 2016, 01:08:52 am »
Title says it all. Some of my pet peeves in the game are:

-people who don't know how to properly export a map and when I download it, there's folders upon folders of meshes and textures I don't need or want

-characters that are mary sues in the abstract sense, meaning they think they're above any character traits that other charries may have. (ex. let's say you have an extremely charming character but nobody actually role-plays being charmed, thus ruining the role-play and part of your character. exception if they have a trait to counter-act yours, like asexuality.)

-people who are rude to other characters' designs (ex. ew thats a neon owl lol get it away *swishes realistic mane* )

-people who leave a default character just so everyone knows to get their preset. Like, you can customize that character under the preset. Don't take away from the experience of the game for someone else if they are unable to get your preset.

Share your pet peeves below!

Discussion Board / What anime should I watch first?
« on: January 03, 2016, 03:49:36 pm »
So I've never seen an anime in my life and I really want to watch one, but I don't know which one will give me the smoothest transition into the fandom, if you will. I see a lot of vine edits of animes and everyone is turning into some super-zombie thing with lots of blood and guts, and if all animes are like that I guess that's alright. I'd just like one that maybe has a little less "GFHOUIGBK DEMONS" and a little more cuteness and romance? If anybody knows of a good one I'd love to hear your suggestions. Thank you :3

Site/Forum Help / Personal Title?
« on: January 02, 2016, 09:06:57 pm »
I see people around the forum and on the left of their post, where their avi is, they have some kind of personalized text above their stars. Buffy's says something about chris pratt, and Hooli's says 'used napkin'. I went to my forum profile info and saw a "personalized text" space, but when I put in my text it showed up way underneath my avi and was all weirdly spaced out. Does anyone know how I can get my personal text-thingy?
