Game Help / Login issues
« on: June 30, 2016, 02:12:31 am »
Okay, so after returning from roughly a month of vacation I've updated to the new version of the game but I can't seem to get in. I'm able to load up the launcher and access the various other options (Options, Creative Den and such)but my effort to log in simply results in being told I can't connect to the front server. The game can still tell me if I've input an (intentionally) wrong password but it just won't let me get into the actual game.

I don't wanna do anything drastic but I'd really like to get into the game, so, what can I do? Any help is appreciated.

Characters / Jay wants to talk about foxes.
« on: June 11, 2015, 03:42:04 am »
So hey whats up? I'm no sure if this belongs here but since I do have a fox character I assumed that this would be a appropriate place.

Colour: So first off lets talk colour, what comes to mind when you think of a fox? Probably a Red or Arctic perhaps a Fennec (those tiny little things are adorable) but were you aware Reds don't even have to be red? Now I can't tell you what to do since my fox character is a....  well.... red Red fox but maybe take a look at these?

(If the thing wont work Image can be found here http://skinnedfawxtaxidermy.deviantart.com/art/Red-Fox-Pelt-Chart-287427571)

(link http://skinnedfawxtaxidermy.deviantart.com/art/The-Awesome-Colorations-of-the-Vulpes-Vulpes-345664572)

Now naturally some of these colours simply are not possible in the basic feral heart engine but you know? just to put it out there your red can totally be golden or black. Now there is not much more I can actually say here other than encouraging you to look into it yourself and that if you're into genetics it's pretty intresting stuff.

Behavior: Since I'm mostly talking about Reds then I stick with them here. Reds tend to live in family groups called skulks composed of two parents, their grown young and new kits. Four to six kits tend to be the average but up to thirteen have been observed, larger litters tend to happen in regions where high infant mortality is common. Kits are helpless for about 2-3 weeks and during this time their mother will not leave them and is fed by males or non-breeding females. and at about 3-4 weeks they start exploring outside the den. Skulks tend to have about two submissive individuals but up to eight have been observed. An adult will only leave it's parents skulk if they have a high chance of establishing a territory of their own, foxes live about five years and reach sexual maturity at about a year.

Like wolves male foxes mark out a territory and every thing in it via spraying urine and have up to twelve different urination postures to ensure accurate spraying. They only really live in burrows when kits are present, when there are none they wander the territory freely. Red foxes tend to not get along with almost any other kind of animal they're kinda snappy and tend to be aggressive.

Body language: "Red fox body language consists of movements of the ears, tail and postures, with their body markings emphasising certain gestures. Postures can be divided into aggressive/dominant and fearful/submissive categories. Some postures may blend the two together.
Inquisitive foxes will rotate and flick their ears whilst sniffing. Playful individuals will perk their ears and rise on their hind legs. Male foxes courting females, or after successfully evicting intruders, will turn their ears outwardly, and raise their tails in a horizontal position, with the tips raised upward. When afraid, red foxes grin in submission, arching their backs, curving their bodies, crouching their legs and lashing their tails back and forth with their ears pointing backwards and pressed against their skulls. When merely expressing submission to a dominant animal, the posture is similar, but without arching the back or curving the body. Submissive foxes will approach dominant animals in a low posture, so that their muzzles reach up in greeting. When two evenly matched foxes confront each other over food, they approach each other sideways and push against each other's flanks, betraying a mixture of fear and aggression through lashing tails and arched backs without crouching and pulling their ears back without flattening them against their skulls. When launching an assertive attack, red foxes approach directly rather than sideways, with their tails aloft and their ears rotated sideways. During such fights, red foxes will stand on each other's upper bodies with their forelegs, using open mouthed threats. Such fights typically only occur among juveniles or adults of the same sex." Maybe I'll tack more on here later but for now this is the pertinent information on Red Foxes.

Game Discussion / Species segrigation?
« on: November 23, 2013, 07:42:16 am »
Any one else notice that people only seem to be willing to interact with characters of the same species as their current character? Perhaps I am somehow compleatly wrong and everywhere but where I go is filled to bursting with role plays smothered in diversity, however this seems rather uncommon. And to tell the truth it's super annoying, feral heart is a game where a totally unique character of just about any species is possible so why restrict ones self to only interacting with others of the same type. In my most recent experience with this type of behavior was when I was wasteing time laying around on my melanisic leopard character Kith Kanan. Anyway a lioness decided to approach me seeing as I was currently in character a small random role play sprung up. Now everything seemed to be going fine before I corrected her on Kith not being a liger in any way, shape or form, (poor Kith had his pride stung so badly) at this point she apologized for wasteing my time, said she had thought Kith was at least part lion and poofed.

Does anybody have any idea why this type of self imposed species segregation happens? Anybody who can explain it to myself is greatly appreciated.

Game Discussion / Poorly thought out username.
« on: October 21, 2013, 04:07:43 am »
A friend of mine managed to find registration open, now naturally she was rushing to get in before it closed on her so I doubt she was thinking clearly, however she has told me that the username she chose is her real life first and last name. Now I personally am a little worried by this and  would like to hear what other people think of this one. Should I just stop worrying or should I force her to wait until she can register a new account under a anonymous name?

In a RP I was recently part of my character Adui developed a friendship with another member. Eventually they asked if Audi was when they asked (in the context of the role play) if i was glad to have met their character when I responded by saying "yeah. You are probably my best friend. I don't know what I would do without you" they went on to wine about "friend-zoneing" for a good twenty minutes before turning it into some tragic story where her "true love" rejected her. I might just be stupid but I had not the foggiest clue she saw Audi romantically. I mean she did not drop the slightest clue, what I'm try'na say is I was unaware there was any romance in the relationship, not enough for Audi to declare his (theroretical) love, not enough that she might feel shunned because of a inocent coment and certainly not enough to make me the villan for no good reason. And on top of that have one of her "suitors" attack me. I know other people have had role plays where all of a sudden relationships are fifty times more serious but one of the people involved have no clue so maybe you all get where I'm coming from. Anyway had to get that off my chest. Minor rant over. Thank you for bothering to read this.

Characters / My characters
« on: August 21, 2013, 04:02:21 am »
So here we go. I'll be using this as a hub/display for my characters. Anyway let's start with Quill.

So yeah. If the screen shots don't work Quill is just a basic red fox. He is fairly thin but other that that he is physically unremarkable.

Personality traits: Quill is a seemingly confidant creature, however he is extremely self conscious. Quill also easily gets jealous of others, At times he will display a temper but most of the time he chooses to be "Emotionless". Quill tends to emotionally abuse the others around him. Since Quill rarely feels positive emotions about others he will often confuse gratitude for far stronger emotions.

(Super condensed) Past: As a kit Quill was sickly, Often suffering from a fever he did not make many friends. Most of his interactions were with his brother or his half sister. Sar was far stronger than his brother and many other members of the skulk were fond of him but he was always there for Quill. With their father gone and their mother delusional the brothers were mostly raised by their older half sister Kitt. After the death of their mother and Retching adulthood the brothers followed their sister and left to explore the world. After a undocumented amount of time the brothers found themselves sealed in a cave. Knowing that he could chose to save himself with no chance of failure or could save his brother as well, Reducing Both brothers chances of survival, Quill chose to wait for Sar to sleep then abandoned him. Since then he has wandered the world.

Other details: Quill has a weakness of the heart and lungs that leaves him coughing up blood whenever he is under strain(Or when ever really). Quill is extremely picky about his food. Quill's voice is soft and raspy.

Adui: A male lion. At the peak of his youth and physical power

Personality traits: Adui is childish tending towards temper. He does not deal well with new situations. Adui is a highly social lion and his loyalty is fierce however he seems to lack a moral compass. His personality is remarkably underdeveloped and so varies according to mood swings, So all in all it is not possible to say "He is 100% this personality type"

(Extra condensed) Past: Adui is your typical lion. The only cub in his mothers first litter he was rather spoiled. He lead a rather rambunctious cub hood but other than that had a typical youth. Once old enough to care for him self Adui left his birth-pride. Since then he has wandered freely, For a short time he traveled with a rouge lioness however she decided she wanted to join a pride and Audi unable and unwilling to deal with pride life left her  immediately after she shared her thoughts on the matter.

Other details: Though he will never admit it he is a terrible fighter, Using brute strength and easily taken down by a strategic foe. Adui has a massive soft spot for cubs and young ones.

Game Discussion / Most common uncommon "felines"
« on: December 08, 2012, 06:28:52 am »
Two days of study went into this. The goal was to create a list of numbers of animals made on the feline models that you don't see every day. The rules were as follows #1: I have to had seen or talked to someone who had one of the chars #2: Only breeds you don't see every day. (Lions were a species banned from the list as were the generic warriors cat. Specified cat beeds made it on however)#3: Testing was conducted on bonfire. So any way what were the results

Number 1- cougars with 12
2nd- Bears with 9
3rd- Cheetahs with 6
4th-  Leopards with 5
5th- a tie between lynxes and tigers with 4
6th- A tie between pair of thylacine made with the feline model with 2
7th- Snowleopard, jaguar, bobcat, siamese, turkish van, khajiit and a "sky cat" all with 1

If you feel the need to say something go ahead. I figured this list may be of intrest to some people so here it is (if im not to lazy i may add a poll based on my results)
