News Archives / A couple of notes
« on: September 26, 2018, 09:34:14 am »
Well here we are guys right now its just me and you.

Those of you who know me know I'm not one for explaining myself.

But I guess a couple of notes are needed.

Those who disagree with moderator free October. You seem to be wildly over simplifying its operation. I'll give you a hint block != ban or even  blockx9000 != ban.(important note != is not = for those unaware != means does not equal)

Also note moderator free October was preparation for the staffs departure.

As for lost characters. PLEASE in future check where your download is coming from. If it doesn't come directly off feral-heart.com I cannot be held responsible for its content. So if its some random mediafire link think twice before you download.

I wont restore your characters quite yet as it seems people are still loosing theirs. I'm not about to start some daily restore of lost characters. There are other more pressing matters to attend.

I'm also aware prior to the staffs departure, certainly in the staff room and possibly around the forum posts were blanked out. I will also have these restored in good time.

Sorry its so brief as you may imagine there's now a lot to do.

Raz

PS: THE SERVERS ARE NOT FOR SALE xD (I've suddenly had a lot of offers) (And yes there are more than one)

Interesting concept no?

Lets call it a test / trial and forum operations will continue as usual. In-game however you will have no moderators.

Nope I'm not crazy of course something is being put in place. Note: if its not working it may not even be a whole month.

I know there are a lot of you out there who provide reports etc back to the staff.

Well for the month of October and maybe beyond. You the community will be in charge of self moderation.

How is it going to work?

Well from your point of view as a community member you have a very simple job to do. If you see someone or something that shouldn't be going on block the person.

The system in place will identify people being blocked. It will assign bans accordingly. I'm not going to give too much insight to its workings for now as things may change as more information is collected and to prevent any attempts at abuse of the system.

So I guess what it boils down to is can you guys keep a clean and friendly environment? Or do you actually require people to sit and watch you?

Roll on October!

Raz

If it's with our without sync doesn't sound like a sync issue I suggest you make a thread in the help boards. From what you've said already I would include the code you have used too.

Presets can't support spaces properly we could have two users "hello world" and "hello_world" and they would end up sharing a preset file there are other reasons the underscore is more preferable. So yeah no more spaces.

Sync is fine its doing its job when you export the preset gets put in presets. you either need to take that and upload it to sync or put it in private presets if you dont do that it will get erased everytime you restart the game as presets gets reset at each run

Yep just restricted usernames that start with - you can just change your username from the userpanel.

Thanks for the feedback vortex

"Last-modified header missing"

Isn't actually an error it has to be shown in order to show what happening seems people don't like the black box that just sits there.

I'll look into the access is denied error.

Someone just mentioned it to me. I've fixed it now. Sorry about that.

I'm a little confused you have downloaded everything except sync? When you install sync it pretty much does everything for you. It just runs in the background when you run the game and assuming it doesn't need an update it will just close itself when it's finished. The only thing you have to be aware of is the slight change of folders.

Game Help / Re: Local NTFS volume?
« on: February 12, 2017, 01:07:20 pm »
I'm going to take a guess even though I can't see your screen. If you open computer and right click your C: drive. Choose properties you should see something like type: local disk and then file system which I'm guessing for you says FAT or FAT32 or exFAT. Presetsync relies on NTFS to work if it does say NTFS please provide more information if it does not. Your hard drive is not in a format that is compatible with presetsync sorry...
