Fairy Wolves

Fairy Wolves are a species of canines that are only known in legends and folklore, but they are very much real. These wolves are generally small in stature, their height similar to a foxes. They have large ears, thin tails, and their eyes are pupiless. Their pelts are soft and downy and can range in a variety of colors depending on the region they were born in. Wolves born in hot climate areas have crimson, maroon dark grey, and sometimes brown colorations. Areas surrounded by water such as marshes and beaches have blue, dark blue, teal, and a pale grey coat. Forest regions have green, jade, blue green, and lime green coats. The eye colors also very depending on the region often being a lighter or darker shade than the main coat color, however they can be a different shade not related to the coat color all together.

Although they may not seem like much Fairy Wolves posses different elemental abilities. The fur color of a Fairy Wolf can be used to identify their element. Wolves living in the hotter regions have fire abilities. They have fireproof fur and feel like a hot water bottle when touched. When lighting a fire they often run a stick against their fur. Their bodies have a higher body temperature, when running a flammable object against their fur it will ignite it into flames. This can be used as a defense from predators. They can also breathe out small embers of flames, which many used to cook prey that has been caught.   Marsh and beach dwelling wolves have the water element. Their fur is similar to that of a birds, they have a layer of oil in their fur that repels water keeping them dry.  If there are no fresh water sources they will purify the contaminated water, making it drinkable. When finding food they will dive into the water and search for food than wait at the surface.  They have larger lungs than the other kinds, this adaptation lets them breathe in more oxygen and enable them to hold their longer. The forest wolves have the flora abilities. They are usually one with nature and care more about plants than other. These wolves can grow and revive plants in different types of conditions. Even though they grow crops they don't eat them, as they are still carnivores. Instead they will use them to make remedies and medicines for illness and diseases along with herbs and spices. These are the most common of abilities, Fairy Wolves can also have wind and electricity abilities. These are more uncommon and its unknown at to where one obtains this. These kinds of wolves tend to have a silver or yellow coat depending on the element and can be found in any of the three main areas and are treated no differently. In extremely rare occurrences some wolves are born with the abilities of light and darkness.  As suggested by the name of the abilities they have light and dark coats ranging from pure white to pitch black.

Fairy Wolves are happy-go-lucky, cheerful creatures. They are often seen bounding playfully with others, a smile on their face, and wagging tails. They can be mischievous as well, messing and playing pranks on other animals, and generally what they deem to be entertaining.

The population of this species is low and diminishing as their homes are being overtaken by the human population. While they were elusive to begin with, their are hardly any left. But even then they are thriving and living peacefully with the few members they have left.

Fairy Wolves can either have spiral or swirl markings on their body and head and tails. Wolves with spiral markings have highlights on their tail although their are some cases where wolves with swirl markings have highlights on their tails as well. They have manes on their back that extend toward their head. Males can have tufts on their legs where females do not. Males are larger and have a more stockier build than females.

These are pictures of what a Fairy Wolf would look like. This is my character Pixie and as you can tell she has the flora abilities based on her coat color.
