The Vorox
Basic Information
The vorox is a very large canine like animal. This species comes from a different planet where all living things are robots. Vorox have fur and look like a normal animal until they are damaged. They have sliver teeth and a grey tongue. Any wounds they would have are also sliver. Their blood is a shiney grey color.
Vorox have a very long tail, about the same length as their whole body. At the tip is a sliver point that can inject venom into a target. The only way to tell a female from a male is that the tip is a lighter shade of grey if it is female.
Vorox are both prey and predator which means they do have other animals that hunt and kill them but they also hunt animals. They have very long legs for reaching high speeds while running to escape predators.
Vorox are omnivores. They mostly eat plant life but can also eat smaller prey animals if needed. Vorox are intelligent enough to grow plants in gardens, but not smart enough to build buildings and tools.
Body structure
Vorox have long legs and a very long tail. Their tail is long and thin. They have large and thick heads with a slow slope down from the top of their head to their muzzle. This is to help wind glide across their face easier when they are running. They are large ears that are pointed backward to keep sand from getting into them.
Weaknesses and strengths
Vorox are very fast and can usually outrun any dangers. They are smart to, easily remembering any areas they have been in. They can map out tunnels and forests in their heads and remember it for a very long time.
Vorox will freeze up or panic if they see fire. They also hate water and will only be near it if they need a drink. They cannot swim.
If the end of their tail is cut their own poison will get into their body.
Creation
Though there are males and females, they cannot breed and create new vorox. Vorox are created by ‘matercans’ which are sentient creatures that look like big light blue balls. They are like factories that slowly create vorox. They can make two a year. They are protective and will attack anyone that gets near them with vine-like attachments. They can speak and usually have a feminine voice.
Mentors and apprentices
When a vorox is ‘born’ they are very small and helpless. Without the help of an adult vorox, they would die. The thing is, having to care for a baby vorox is hard work and without some persuading, they wouldn’t take them. If an adult vorox gets too close to a matercan while they are nearing completion of a vorox, they will be captured. Matercans have the ability to alter the programing of a vorox so that if they attempt to leave the child or harm them they will feel a pain in their skull. They have no ability to not care for them once this is done. The adult would be called the mentor and the child is the apprentice. The mentor must care for and train the apprentice. This effect wears off once the apprentice reaches one year old.
Breeds
There are three different breeds. Usually these breeds live separately. The Shyon Pack is very rare because all breeds are accepted with open arms.
The sand vorox is the most common. They are also the strongest and largest. They have a light tan fur color and can have brown or very light tan markings. They tend to be more hostile to newcomers. They live in large groups in tunnel systems. They like to be in desert areas where it is very hot.
Another breed is the forest vorox. They are smaller than the sand vorox but much faster. They are a dark tan color and can have brown or black markings. They live in smaller groups of two to six. They live in more forested areas.
The most rare species is the snow vorox. They have much more fur than the other two species because they live in snowy areas. They are white with light grey markings. They are usually solo, but want to have others with them. Sadly since they are so rare, they do not often meet up. They are very trusting and friendly. They are the smallest species of vorox.
Abnormalities
Sometimes a vorox can be born as a hybrid of two species. When a vorox is created the species is decided by the temperature. If the temperature changes suddenly in the middle of the vorox’s creation then the species is mixed. The only hybrids that can exist are snow/forest and forest/sand. This is because the temperatures for a sand vorox and a snow vorox are so different it never changes that quickly. A hybrid will have a base color of one species and have markings of a color from a different species.
The Black Vorox
The black coloring on a vorox is extremely rare and no one knows why it happens. The vorox is usually a normal forest vorox but has a pitch black coloring with blue eyes. They have a white stripe under their tail.
Grey Tinted Vorox (Also known as ‘Fearless Vorox’)
Rarely a vorox will have no fear of water. They will actually enjoy being in water and swimming in water. The thing is, water has a strange effect to the fur color of a vorox, causing it to change to a grey coloring. This can happen to any breed.
Tailess
Sometimes a vorox is born without a tail and without any venom. These vorox are usually shunned and die young because they have a hard time defending themselves.
Deafness and blindness
It is possible for any species to be created without the ability to hear or see.
