Large Map Making

I have tried for a very long time now, but when I try to create maps on GIMP that are more than 513 by 513, my whole FH crashes. Yes, I have it set on Grayscale, I keep it on one layer, and I place it in the correct place. I have tried for so long, and I could use some help. xD

Feral Heart won't accept maps that have a heightmap or terrain mask by more than 513x513 pixels.
If you want to make the map larger in game, go to Map Maker, click the World tab, and below the Terrain Textures there should be a Width and Height thing.
Play around with the numbers until you get a map with the size that you want. c:
