Game Help / my terrain mask won't work!

i followed all the steps to make a terrain mask and i used gimp but when i try to pull it up in map maker it won't work...
Yes:
the mask is 513x513
it's in RGB mode
it's a png image
i use gimp
Problem:
when i type in the name of the mask and everything it won't show up...not even the pattern of the terrain mask shows up
