Sivaas' Krosis
Chapter 0 - First steps

How long has it been? Weeks? Months? A few hours? Or perhaps.. only a few milliseconds? The echoing screams of panic, the epidemic of encroaching chaos, the confusion, the desperation, the rage, the blood.. all of it buzzing in my head like flies to honey. One sane enough would call it homicide. But we..., we call it survival in a world spiralling out of control far beyond our comprehension.
One might laugh and call this a pathetic attempt but they have not gone through what we've experienced. They have not witnessed what lies beyond their comfy dens and petty gossip. They do not know what it's like to grow up their whole life living in nothing but a tiny dog crate, not knowing when you'll ever see the light of day again...
My name is Creedance Blackwater, Alpha of the Sivaas' Krosis pack, and this is our story.

Eight silhouettes stood out from the bleakened evening that night. Each one possessing a burden veiled behind hushed voices. Their limbs weary, their hopes far from broken, their paws shrouded in the sanguine color of blood. The only thing keeping them going is desperate wishing and an endless search. Yet what they were searching they have yet to find out. Out of the eight, one silhouette wandered alone, not knowing that it would run into the other seven on a later date. The silhouettes that stayed together, out of all seven figures, six of them seemed to follow one that stood out from the rest. Not in color or size, but in confidence and pride alone.
Despite that fact, it would be an undying determination that caused their masses to keep moving deeper and deeper into the wilderness they knew little to nothing about. The wailing ring of sirens deafening their sense of hearing, the cascading rain drenching their pelts only to welcome a bitter chill down to their cores, the disbelief that each one of them felt the minute their paws touched the earth outside of the facility they've escaped from.
It worked. It actually worked. After months of planning such a daring rebellion, finally what they've thought was a lost cause actually came true. But.. how long would such a dream last until it transforms into a nightmare? The answer to that question resided in a future they, at the time, could not see.

A week has passed since that night. Seven days of endless wandering in a territory they both feared yet have been longing for all their lives. Within those seven days, the lone silhouette mentioned before gradually caught up to the rest. At first, distrust was high and tolerance was tested. Yet over time, things settled down for the most part.
On the eight day, the small caravan sauntered onto what seemed like wide, rolling plains with very little shelter to cover them from what might be deemed a threat. At first, they were quite hesitant, unsure if what they were promenading into would furtherly aid in their trek or only worsen their situation.
"Creedance," a gruff voice would call, breaching the silence that loomed over their presence, "I can detect no white-coats here. For now, we are safe." The one who spoke would be no other than Roeth, Creedance's younger brother whom was also seen as the Beta male of the pack. Unlike the others, Roeth was a bulking mass of fortitude and annihilation. His size both in height and muscle tone easily surpassing that of your everyday canis lupus. As his golden eyes locked onto the dark figure belonging to his older kin, Creedance's skull would only pirouette around in order to meet gazes with him before allowing his own bisque-colored eyes to stray elsewhere.
"It matters not," this time it being Creedance who would speak, "for all of this could just be an illusion created by the white-coats. No matter where we go, safety can go from a serene relief to bitter disillusionment in nothing more than a few seconds."
A subtle smirk would toy across the Beta's face. It's been a while since he's last witnessed his kindred so troubled.
"Daar tah dreh lahney."
The words of a foreign language coming from the Beta's mouth even to this day gave Creedance a small sense of reassurance. Thus, it would only be then the realization of how weary his comrades might be. After all, ever since that night, they rarely if ever stopped to catch their breath.
"We'll rest here for the night," he would order after a moment's hesitation. Is this the right thing to do? Will they truly be safe here?
I suppose you win this round, brother.
Around the second the Alpha's order was processed in the minds of the subordinates, multiple bodies would fall with a 'thud' against the earth's vegetation. Their tongues dangling from the edges of their maws in steady panting as at last they could rest their sore paws. One individual however would settle herself quietly on her flanks, allowing her tail to neatly coil over her forepaws. Her pale hazel eyes remaining locked upon the Alpha in silent concern as she too has rarely if ever seen the charcoal-hued male this troubled. It wouldn't take him long to feel the unease of prying eyes, thus noticing her gaze upon him. Instead of questioning or setting it aside, he'd instead tread up to her only to sit as her side. Her dusty-tan pelt flecked in a hue of carmine reminding him of a dove amongst demons and even in a time like this, he couldn't help but bring his muzzle around and nudge her shoulder in the gentlest manner he could muster.
"Creedance..," her fickle, almost angelic voice would barely emit from her maw as nothing more than a whisper. But instead of saying something more, she'd tilt her muzzle up just high enough to playfully nip at the Alpha's ear. However, being one of the smallest canines in the pack, doing something so simple proved to be a challenge.
Unfortunately, Creedance's mind was as aloof as ever to rarely notice his partner's playful attempt. His eyes darting over to a small, beige subordinate who lay blatantly upon the earth. Her golden eyes full of awaiting mischief as she found what little amusement she could fathom watching her tail tap the ground in a rhythmic beat over and over. It was clear that she was bored which surprised the Alpha despite his expression not showing it. How could she be bored? Especially at the risk of such dangers left unknown to them. Then again, unlike they, she wasn't locked away in that facility long at all. She was lucky enough to arrive just when that night was encroaching, only to escape alongside the others. Even still, the white-coats would be looking for her as well, right?
"Requiem."
At his call, the impish subordinate's gaze would leisurely focus in his direction before rising to her full height, being hardly any taller than the Alpha's partner, also known as the Alpha female. Keeping her gaze to him, she would almost innocently saunter over only to peer up to meet his eyes and speak in a tone one would consider impudent, "What is it you want?"
"Follow me, we need to talk. The rest of you stay close to Lady Reika," the Alpha's eyes rivetting just once to his partner who stayed quiet for the most part before allowing his mass to shift away from her side. As he and the subordinate ambled elsewhere, the Alpha known as Reika would allow her gaze to follow the physique of her mate with deep concernity. She hated when he left her side, hated being away from him. Thus, right then and there she found herself fighting the urge to follow him as his outline began to grow hazy the farther he went. Her psychological trauma didn't help things either.
Please come back safe and sound, Creedance. Please... don't leave me alone in this world.
When the two got far enough, away from the prying eyes and ears of the rest of the pack, Creedance's paws would come to an immediate halt only to turn and face the subordinate who obediantly followed close behind.
"I want you to stay close to Lady Reika while I'm gone."
"What for?"
"This land is greatly unknown to us. It wouldn't be safe for you all to trek here not knowing what lies ahead. Therefor, I'm going to scout out the area. If Lady Reika asks, merely inform her that I'm off hunting."
Despite her personal objection to his decision of wandering off alone, the subordinate would give a subtle nod in understanding. He was the Alpha after all. Thus, she wouldn't be surprised if he felt responsible for what the pack might run into. As a result, he wished to wander the premesis alone just incase there was something out there to look out for without leading his comrades directly into immediate danger. They've been through enough as is.
The next thing she knew, she was watching her only Alpha dart couragously into the encroaching darkness as the sun set further and further into the horizon. The night's grip shrouding his pelt into the ominous shadow that, to her, appeared to consume him alive.

"Good luck, you brave fool."

[What you've just read isn't just another fairy tale I've thought up in my head. Oh no. It's actually partial of a roleplay some close friends of mine and I are performing gradually over time. Thus, to keep things interesting, and wanting an opportunity to further practice my skills in literature, I've decided that I'd gather up bits and pieces of the roleplay and transform it into a story one might read in a library. Hopefully my muse in doing all this will hold out, being my only concern. Nevertheless, I thoroughly hope you've enjoyed the tale and as the roleplay goes on, more chapters will be made all in due time. Of course, criticism will be greatly appreciated so feel free to comment if I've messed something up via sentence structure, typo, or if I need to add a bit more detail in the descriptions.]
