Can you expand on what exactly it is you're trying to do with the mane?

Ok so, go into gimp or whatever program you use for your presets.
Then, go into 'My Computer' > FeralHeart > Media > Textures
There you should scroll down until you see the file 'fmaneMask' or you can find another mane texture

Now, BEFORE YOU START COLOURING you must LOCK the transparency, then your able to color it.

Try uploading the image to imgur.com. The link you have provided us isn't/is no longer functional. As for what you better described, you will need to erase the areas that are supposed to be transparent on the mane texture in order for the texture to not overlap the mane itself. Once you've done that, set the texture layer from 'normal' to 'multiply'.

I'm sorry about the broken link. It's fixed now

Ok. I managed to figure out the transparency problem, but it's now putting a thin white outline around the edges of the mane. Is that normal?

To fix this, it's best to erase around the edges/points of the mane mask. Just by a few pixels. This will get rid of those white lines.
