Pure black map?

I am new to FeralHeart, but I already ran into a big problem... When I select a character, after the screen loads I'm met with unending darkness. My character, the action buttons on the right side, and the chat box are all there, and I can move around, but there's nothing there. Has anyone else run into this problem? Please help!

Sometimes the map glitches out, have you tried turning it off and back on again?  That sometimes fixes it.

Go into your FeralHeart folder, go to media>terrains>fhmaps and look there. Check to make sure you have the following maps:

fhBonfireIslands
fhCapeOfWorlds
fhCherikaValley
fhEasternPass
fhFichoTunnels
fhKiwimbiBeach
fhLonelyCave
fhSeasideGrove
fhTheGrounds
fhZamaGrotto
WaterMill

If you DO have all of them, try looking here.

It could be that you haven't reset your character's homes after updating to FeralHeart 1.15. I'd suggest visiting >This Thread< made be the wonderful floof Edolicious or doing as stated above, posted by Azura.

Okay so I checked the folder and all that is inside media>terrains>fhmaps is "fhobjects" and "fhweather" both of which are empty... I also followed the instuctions from the link given by Edolicious but nothing changed...

Have you tried re-downloading the maps?
You can find them in this thread by the lovely Bawfle under Media folder sub-folders>terrains Download here. 51 MB.

That is odd that it's empty.
Follow Chipz instructions and when it's finished downloading copy and paste what Azura listed, then it should load.
If not ;

I'd reset all of your characters homes VIA the User Panel.

Good news! I ended up deleting the whole thing and reinstalling it (this time using Torrent to do so) and when it was downloaded this time everything was there! I can now play and there's no black!
