Not This Again
« on: December 03, 2012, 01:44:05 am »
I'm having the rock glitch again.  For those who don't what I'm talking about, have you ever gone into a map, just to have a massive mountain blocking your way?  This mountain usually ends up blocking off part of the map for me.  This time, I was able to get some screenshots of it happening, though.

This is all in the Edenwood map, by the way.

What the area where the rock is SHOULD look like

What it REALLY looks like

This is frustrating me, and I know it's not the objects that came with the map, because they had their own group.  Can anyone help me? .A.

The objects from this map have their own group, and the mountain looks like one of Thierry's dens, which I have in their own individual group for easiness to get to

Would you mind going to your maps folder and opening the [mapname]Objects.cfg with Notepad. You could search through there for the mount and delete it.

One reason it could be happening is because you didn't delete the mesh in Object Maker after saving or loading it. If you load a mesh in Object Maker, save it or not then just exit without clicking the "Clear" button, sometimes the mesh will just appear in your maps.

I don't know if this would work but you could re-load the same mesh in Object Maker, save it again (overwriting it) then press "Clear" before exiting and re-starting the game.
Will be inactive due to work and exams.

The thing is, this isn't my map.  This is Kerrigan's map, Edenwood.  And it's not just this map.  It happens in Gingera's Arctic Creek, one of my friend's maps, and a few others.  It never happens in my own maps.

This happens when you have a mesh downloaded which name matches with a mesh existing on the map and its different.
For example, you have a file den3.mesh at my_objects folder, and the map uses a diferent mesh but with the same name den3.mesh. The result is the mesh goes replaced.

The solution is to rename/delete the downloaded mesh den3.mesh to something like ThiDen3.mesh.

As i see this problem is becoming common, im going to put less common names to my own meshes.

Ah, okay! I'll do that once I get home, and post back with the results. I was starting to think that might be happening.

EDIT: Yup, turns out that's what happened! I renamed the mesh, went into a map, and everything was working fine.  Thank you all for your help c:
