I need antivirus FAST

Hey guys, now of any good free antivirus? My laptop (Used to be my sisters) doesn't actually have antivirus on it, and some odd behaviour has been popping up, so I'm just worried and want  something other than windows security essentials which won't update on here. Any suggestions? Is avast any good? This is the website I have for avast: http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

 I don't think Raz can fix the fact my computer shut off windows security essentials on its own and refuses to let me turn it back on, and won't shut down >.> But he might now more than I do at least XDDD

Raz....is very helpful when it comes to computer stuff. He's de-virused my computer before, lol.

Avast is okay, AVG is also a good software to use for virus-hinting. Though like Sameth said, Raz probably knows more about what's going on to get you a quick fix.

Hmm... I'll have to wait till Raz comes on and see if he will help. Until then, I have download Avast (I hope >.>) and I'll install it when it is done downloading to HOPEFULLY protect me a little so things don't go downhill like they always do for me >.>

Yeah, AVG is good for most windows consoles, my main computer has AVG and there hasn't been any viruses on it. Thank God.

And I've never gotten a virus I find Avast reaaaaally annoying but yeah. Avast and AVG are pretty good

Malwarebytes anti-Malware is a good free one.
:I it found stuff on my old laptop where Norton failed.

There's also Super Anti Spyware I think too. Also free.

If you think you have a virus NOW then I would go with Malwarebytes, like Draak said. Whenever Ive had to fix an infection, my computer or otherwise, Malwarebytes has fixed it for me. Malwarebytes is good at cleaning out the viruses, whereas a lot of other programs are mostly for prevention.

As for a general program to have for prevention, AVG or whatever is fine. I use Avira myself.
