Introduction / I can't believe it's been so many years.
« on: April 19, 2018, 08:57:00 am »
It's really good to see that this place is still going! There are a lot of new faces, so I might as well say hi, hah. <3

Hiya! The name's [something unpronounceable goes here], though you can call me Dec, or just Cream, for old times' sake.
I'm an aspiring electronic & orchestral music producer by whatever my hecked up sleep schedule calls a day. Sampled dolphin noises are cool.
... at the same time, I pretend I'm a derpy spotted snow-lep. Crazy, right?

Shoutout to Raz, Mog, Sura, Bloo and Red. I'm really happy to see you're still around - same to all the other OG names that might read this!

Ask Me / ?? Ask Decessei ??
« on: October 26, 2012, 06:10:39 pm »
Have a question for me?
Feel free to ask. I'll gladly answer. c:

Previously asked:

Why have I not met you in-game yet?
I actually think we have met in-game, just very long ago. ^^" Mrr, I might happen to stumble upon you soon again, though that could probably be coordinated too.
*
How did you create 'Decessei'?
That's something I myself would like to know. x3 I recall having shaped it up as I sought an alias for not only my fursona, but my music production (which I need to get back to doing soon), and it just popped up in my mind. After making sure no one'd taken the alias, it soon became my own.
*
how you become such awesome computer expert?
Merp, I sometimes spend spare time reading on networking, programming and the likes, as well as a lot of trial-and-error. Been taking somewhat of a short course in engineering as well... ouo" It all began with curiosity.
*
What's your favorite thing about FH?
Well, to me the best thing about FeralHeart is probably the friendships that form in it. x3 That, and of course, the everpresent possibility to help others.
*
Herpderp? o3o
Merpherp.
*
Do you want a better piece of gift-art? c:
D'aw, well it's all up to you. x3 I'm fine if you want to, same if you don't.

Miscellaneous Tutorials / HOWTO: Remove the Skype goo.gl virus.
« on: October 08, 2012, 12:15:12 am »

Most of us have heard of that new virus that's spreading through Skype. If you've gotten infected, refer to this thread on how to clear it off. This thread is necessary for Windows users only. Mac and Linux are immune.

The first thing you'll need to do, is change your Skype password. This'll prevent the virus from logging itself in and sending most messages.

Next, go ahead and run this tool: http://www.eset.com/us/onlinescan/ (use the online scan, not the full AV). If any malicious files show, proceed to block or remove them.

Finally, open Skype. Go to Tools > Options, and once there select 'Advanced Settings' or something of the sort. There, go to 'Manage other Applications' Access to Skype' and remove any unknown application.

You should be set to go by then. <3

Screenshots / Decessei's Screenies. [UPDATED 10/12/12]
« on: September 09, 2012, 02:27:29 am »
Well, I've finally been compelled to make one of these threads. The screenies are randomly organized, so they won't be sorted by date, location or any such thing.
Here we go. ~

I can't really remember where I took this screenie... Probably Bonfire.

This was taken in a custom map. Gotta love sunsets and mornings!~

This was my first screenshot I actually put effort into. Dates back to over or about 7 months... ;w;.

Well, this is a very special screenie. T'was a while back when some friends and I were derping about with Kov. And yes. That's a Simba in the background.

The second screenie I put effort into. This one's almost as old as the first.

His smiling stare will consume you.

Axiel ze kitty needs a cookie. Meow?

Scenic screenie I took over at a custom map. The particle is Fallingfire, retrieved from the old FH map pack... Before anyone asks.

A dance line back from the days Red hosted the radio frequently. Whoop, Antidote was playing while this screenie was taken. As for my character... ;w;" I was bored, okay.

A quick edit for a friend, also taken quite a while back.

A little something to uplift all who're losing motivation recently. c:

Scenic take of the Sky's Rim. Can't help but notice how epic the moon looks on this one. ;w;

Quick screenie taken at the Lonely Cave.

Delay will stare at you as you sleep.

She also makes a good couch.

This defies all logic.

Rawwy's dark side. <3

Floofy Corner #1.

The large-sized users during the filming of a video.

The small-sized users during the filming of a video.

Stare at them shades.

A wild Tokoa has... hidden in a bush.

Redderp.

D'aw. -/Yes, all my textures are blue now.\-

Psst... you're being stalked.

A closer look at the stalker.

... Staring contest?

Merp.

Been having trouble with running FeralHeart on Linux? Wine crashes, or the game refuses to load? Look no further! In this thread, I'll show you how to get your game up and running smoothly in no time. This includes sound, objects, everything, running clean as if on Windows!

NOTE: This should work on many Linux distributions. I've tested such in Ubuntu, and obviously Fedora, which I strongly recommend.
_____________________

Let's get started. The first step to any software installation using Wine, is to know exactly how it and the program works. We'll also use the Terminal constantly in this tutorial, so be prepared to type some commands down.
Many Linux distributions use YUM as a package manager, so we'll be using that now. Open a Terminal window (this is usually found under System Tools in your software menu). Ubuntu users might want to do this:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa

Fedora/RedHat users might want to do this:

sudo yum install wine

When sudo is run, Terminal might ask for a password. Usually it's the password for the current user. Wine needs no special configurations to run FeralHeart -- that doesn't mean you're ready to go though!
Now that we have Wine, we want to make sure everything is up to date and compatible. Not just Wine, but all the packages installed on your OS. Now, don't you worry, this won't cause any damage; the download size can be a bit large depending on how many updates are required, though! Ubuntu users might want to do this:

apt-get dist-upgrade

While Fedora/RedHat users might want to do this:

yum distro-sync

Told you we'd be using Terminal. c:
Now that we have the first requirements cleared out, we can start working on the main objective. Download a fresh FHSetup or FeralHeart+ setup from the Downloads page; both work just fine. Also, I'd restart now if I were you for any changes to take effect. When the download completes, open Terminal yet again. On a file browser window, look for the installer file, then right click it and open it's properties. It should show the path to it's folder there -- then do this, replacing <folderpath> with the path to the folder where the installer is (works for both Ubuntu and Fedora/RedHat):

cd Downloads

What I did there is I accessed the Downloads folder. Take in mind, that if the folder you seek is in your home folder you can simply do as I did, with the folder name. If not, then you'll have to type in the full path (for example, /home/decessei). When you're in the folder,  do the following:

dir

To see the folder's contents. If you're in the right folder, the installer's name should've shown. Since we're in the installer's domain now, simply do the following to run it, replacing <filename> with the installer's name:

wine <filename>

Proceed to install as normal, and we're done with this step.
Now, we've installed the game. Feel free to delete the installer. However, it might just not run yet! There's one thing we should do first: updating our graphics provider! Which is, indeed more easy than it sounds.

On Ubuntu, you might want to type the following in Terminal:

sudo apt-get mesa*
Which should add all the OpenGL Mesa drivers you're missing.

On Fedora, you should do this:

sudo yum install mesa*

Which does the same as mentioned above.

Now, for the last phase. There are times in which Wine looks for certain FH files in one's Home directory instead of on it's own installations. To solve this, go to your home folder and enable viewing hidden files (should be under the View tab in the menu). Go to the folder called .wine (your Wine's sandboxed C: drive) and there go to drive_c. Your FeralHeart folder should be there - if not, it's probably in Program Files or Program Files (x86) for 64-bit users like myself. All you need to do is right-click it and select Copy, then go back to your Home folder and paste it there.

If it all went well, you should have a FeralHeart icon in your programs menu now! Now that all's set, you should be able to play your game on Linux! If any errors occur, feel free to post them in a reply.

Finished Maps / \\ Cyberia // *Ever wonder how Cyberspace looks like?*
« on: November 08, 2011, 08:32:16 pm »
????              cy?er??               ????

This map is a interpretation of cyberspace, giving it a forestish look. I have to admit I slightly slacked off on this one. Still it's the first map I've made destined for public release... Without further ado, I present you a download link. http://www.mediafire.com/?zllz4vxbsdmv9n4
EDIT: Whoa, this is old. Should work fine now.

Game Suggestions & Ideas / In-Game Roleplayer Search
« on: October 31, 2011, 05:25:01 pm »
Idea #1 - In-Game Roleplayer Search
__________________________________________________________________

This would be pretty much an alternative to the existing Cub Roleplayer search thread. It would consist
on a window, similar to the group view. A button would allow you to choose between what roleplayers
you are looking for, cubs or pups. It'd also allow you to choose between unrealistic and realistic, and show you the desired name for such. There would also be another button that would let you create a request for cub roleplayers,  using the same terms as above. It'd save a lot of hassle in General chat, and it'd be more effective than forum interaction.

Other Mods/Creations / Decessei's FH Icy Blue Interface
« on: October 19, 2011, 01:06:55 am »
So... I got bored today, and decided to make some slight modifications to FH. ;w; It's pretty much a GUI mod, making icons and such appear a glossy icy-blue shade in-game. Here are some screenies...

To download, click the following link: (CREATE A BACKUP OF C:\FeralHeart\media\textures FIRST OR THE EFFECT WILL BE IRREVERSIBLE.)

Game Help / A little bit of help, please? (Map Error)
« on: July 14, 2011, 09:03:55 pm »
Thank you for reading this thread, whoever is checking this right now ^_<

I made some maps for an RP. They use some textures that don't come in-game, so I attached my terraintextures folder to it's download. The download basically consists of a main map, linked to around eight others. It works just fine for me, but two users have dowloaded it and they both have gotten the same error... Feralheart.exe has stopped working.

Any idea what's going on?
