Maybe your Roleplay could be held in the Planet Earth map? o0o I know there to be one in the making/made, perhaps the creator could give you acess to it. Anyhoo, I may join in this RP sometime in the future, I'll have to wait and see... O3o

Personally, I wouldn't mind a small pop-up. Seeing that many people do mind it however, what if instead of a pop-up, a small (1) or (2) would appear on the friend's list icon? It happens for the group, party, and friend requests, so why not for this? The bubble would probably need to be a different color to discriminate between online/offline friends and friend requests, but other than that it would seem to work in my opinion :D Anyhoo, such a clever little addtion to the game this would be, if only our beloved Kovu would return with the source code...

I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing a case as extreme as these before me, but I've noticed this on a smaller scale. Many times a new member (or on a rare occasion, myself) will join in a RolePlay I am either participating in or watching, and seemingly immediately know everyone's name. One of my encounters went as follows, and happened while I was gathering members for my group in Flourite;

<Random Cat> "Hey there Lynx!" she mewed.
<Me(named Lynx)> "Greetings miss," the tom purred, blinking lazily and nodding to the female, "I had not realized my name was so well known."
<Random Cat> Whatever... -.-))
<Me>But... chu don't know his name yet, do you? ;3;
<Random Cat> Duh, it's in your name tag :P))
<Me> has Lost Conenction.

'Twas a short experience, but it was actually quite funny. As you saw above I normally just work around the other person's All-Knowing comment, and it usually produces funny reactions. Sadly after I lost Connection the other member was offline, but I still thought about that encounter for a while, and every time it made me smile or laugh x3

Down to the point now, I really have noticed this mistake being made by many users, but I like to usually work around the small ones. Bigger mistakes would call for a re-type, but luckily I've not had any for a long while. ;)

I think one of the reasons that this style of RolePlay is so uncommon is our limited actions in-game. If actions such as wagging your tail, purring, barking, growling, sniffing, and panting were added, it'd be much easier to have your character show emotion without being personified.

If you were to make a Discovery Channel like group, I think it'd be fun if you filmed it and added narration to it ;) Perhaps something to make this kind of RP more realistic would be to name your character whatever species you were, and turn off name tags entirely during RolePlay. That way, when someone spoke an action such as *digs* or *sniffs*, it would look like this;
<Polar Bear F> *digs*
<Corgi M> *sniffs*
But the RolePlayers would not see the name tags on their screen. Instead, you would need to actually look for the animal whom had spoken if you were going to interact with them. But hey, it's your RP, go wild! :D

This doesn't annoy me so much anymore, now it's more of an old joke to me. The only time this really gets on my nerves is in a Warrior Cat RP. Me being a fan of the series myself I know the general guidelines the characters follow, one of the rules being;
"An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his/her battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense."

Now, when do Warrior Cat Rpers ever consider this when RolePlaying? I've rarely seen it at all actually, and it's one of my pet peeves when someone roleplays a fanfiction incorrectly. Why can't you just threaten to severely wound or maim a tresspasser/enemy? X3

On another note, I actually find it funny when I purposely have my character wander back through the threatener's range, just to run around them in circles as they chase after me. Can't kill a moving target with c aws! :D

(But that's just my randomizer mind gone off again ::) ) I'll miss seeing your posts around the forum, as I was just getting used to see them anyways!
