Game Help / Re: FH Crashing Upon Start-up
« on: November 26, 2016, 09:32:16 am »
Maybe try installing the "Lite" version of FH 1.15, if you haven't yet. It's made more for computers that can't handle the lag of the full game, maybe your game is crashing because of that?

I'd also look into what Morgra suggested, and highly recommend updating what you can. Installing a new version of Windows onto a computer that came with an older version doesn't necessarily update everything, it's just a platform that the system operates on, and some drivers will need manual updating.

Hope the problem gets fixed soon.

Game Help / Re: Changing Password
« on: November 21, 2016, 08:15:52 am »
Normally how this process would be done is you'd go to the home page (NOT the forum home page, but here.), and you'd click on "Forgot Password" in the yellow box there in the corner, then follow the on-screen instructions from there. And it'd take a day at the least for the new password to be effective in the game. However with the site being under maintenance since the release of the new game patch, and that Registration is closed because of it, I don't think it's possible at this moment.

Game Help / Re: Map name
« on: November 21, 2016, 08:04:40 am »
I'd do as Kynvuu has suggested. Change both names of your map in Map Maker, the name and display name. This will save an exact copy of your map but under a different name and you will be able to access it in Map Maker later on. If you'd like, you can still make a backup copy of the map with it's original name first and then change the names, that way you still have a backup if something goes wrong (which it shouldn't but FeralHeart can be a fluffbutt sometimes).

Game Help / Re: Mapmaker Crashing!
« on: November 12, 2016, 02:51:54 pm »
The points these floofs above me here have given are valid. You may also want to possibly try .jpg format if you're having problems with .png. I know with the newer GIMP, you have to export an image in order to make it into a .jpg, .png, or other format other than .xcf, which if only saved it will automatically format to that. Just check your files and make sure they're being saved correctly.

Update as I was writing this post: Just tested your heightmap in my own game and got the same result which was a crash as soon as the name was entered in (I saved it from here to my files and called it TestTerrain.png). Tinkered with it in GIMP and re-exported it with a disabled Alpha channel and it worked. So, double check and make sure the Alpha channel is removed, which can be done so by right-clicking on a layer, and selecting "Remove Alpha Channel" in the menu that pops up. Then export as .png or .jpg. And don't worry, I've already deleted your map from my files, so that I'm not "stealing".

Update 2: With the older versions of GIMP, like 2.6 and lower, you can save an image as another format, no need to export it. But anything above 2.6, such as 2.8, requires that you export instead of save.

Good luck to ya floof!

Game Help / Re: How can i get mods on FH?
« on: November 08, 2016, 06:46:47 am »
Is it a picture or a .skeleton/.mesh file?

If you're trying to get a texture mod aka a picture of feathers or bat wings for the wings, then they belong in C:>FeralHeart>media>textures>masks. Make sure to back up the original files, then move the new textures in and click yes to replace when asked.

If you're trying to get a mod for new wing animations of some sort, the .skeleton/.mesh files, those would go in C:>FeralHeart>media>models. Again make backups of your original files and then move the new ones in and click yes to replace when prompted.

Same will apply to most other mods you get for your game. If its a texture image for your game, it will belong inside the textures folder. If its a texture mod for the character like a fur or eye texture, it belongs in masks. If it's a marking, then the marking image goes in markings and the.cfg file goes inside both the FeralHeart folder and markings (at least thats how it works for my game and markings). Animation mods which are mostly .skeleton files since editing .model files can be a little tough will go in models. Most people will include instructions on how to install such things to your game, like where they go and how to use them, so look to see if there are any included. And its always good to make backups of your original files, just in case the mod you got doesn't look good or doesn't work, something of the like, because then you'll be able to switch back to defaults if need-be. And nothing is going to change if you don't replace the files with the new ones if you're asked to, which is another reason why it's good to have backups.

Hope this helps and good luck to you floof!

Game Help / Re: Always Failing to Connect to Server?
« on: November 05, 2016, 05:02:26 pm »
Make sure you're using the "Play Game" tab, locates in the top right, to log into the game. Log into the tab first, wait about two minutes, then open FH and try logging in (keep the tab open behind your game, don't minimize the browser window).

If you're having trouble staying logged into the tab, as some of us always do, use a tab refresher to keep it open and you shouldn't be constantly logged out. http://refreshthis.com is a pretty commonly used one. Log into the tab, then copy the page url, paste it where it says url on refreshthis's page, set for every 25 seconds and start. Hopefully it'll work for you as good as it works for me and others that use it with success.

It's also recommended that you use another browser other than Internet Explorer. Accepted browsers are Chrome and Firefox, as they seem to work best with the login system.

And, make sure you have a strong enough Internet connection and that your game isn't being blocked by your firewall or an antivirus program of some sort.

Good luck to you floof.

Game Help / Re: Meshes not appearing?
« on: November 03, 2016, 03:06:51 pm »
I'm just going to add.

You said you used objects recently added to your game? And then organized them into their own groups? This could be the holdup. It's not a bad thing that you put them into their own groups, that's quite fine, but when you did this did you make sure to not only save the objects but export them from Object Maker as well? I've noticed that a lot of the time an object shows up in a map in Map Maker but not in-game, it's likely due to that particular object having not been exported from Object Maker. Exporting the object usually fixed the problem and everything appeared as it should. The Save button in Object Maker works the same as it does in Map Maker; it only saves progres on something you're working on, but for you and others to use it properly, it must be exported.

Give this a shot if all else fails, it won't effect your map, or at least it shouldn't. Once that's all done give the map a test-run in-game to make sure the objects are showing up as they do in Map Maker.

Side note: if an object you used is a default object that the game came with, and isn't showing up in your map, export it from Object Maker but TO ITS OWN GROUP! Don't tamper with the "vanilla" files, this will only cause more problems

By the way, awesome map!

Game Help / Re: Screenshot Orientation

What is the screen resolution of your computer? Is it at recommended size for your model?

Also, what does the contents of your game's ogre.cfg file look like? Maybe there's a mishap in there somewhere.

Have you tried changing rendering systems?

"Failed to connect to front server" typically means your game can't get online, be it because of little to no Internet connection, firewall or antivirus is blocking FH from accessing Internet, or you're not logged into the Play Game tab.

-Check your Internet
-Check your firewall via control panel. Antivirus via settings in your antivirus program
-Make sure you're logged into the Play Game tab. Log into it, wait a few minutes, then open FH (DON'T minimize your browser window!). You can use a tab refresher to keep logged into the tab such as http://refreshthis.com (set to every 25 seconds). It's also recommended you use Chrome or Firefox.

What is it you're tryin'a accomplish here floof? Are you trying to replace your markings with a MM pack or are you trying to get the defaults back? I'm gettin' mixed signals about the whole situation here.

As for the text boxes, are they right inside the textures folder? Because that's where they should be (not in markings, not in masks, etc etc). You should have all the highlighted images in your textures folder you see below:
