Game Discussion / More accepting roleplays?
« on: June 20, 2014, 08:44:25 pm »
I don't really roleplay much, but I do enjoy hanging out around SB. And I'm starting to notice more "literate" unrealistic roleplays. Also, once I saw a small group go and roleplay with a beached whale, not to mention the whale was not a very good roleplayer, but they didn't seem to care. So is this just me, or are more people becoming more accepting of  other players?

Site/Forum Help / Log In Problem
« on: June 20, 2014, 07:42:26 pm »
When I log in, it only lets me log into the mini profile bar above the forum. I really would like it to recognize me in the top right square so I can upload some presets to the sync. How could I fix this?

Game Discussion / Productive Posts VS Pretty Posts
« on: June 18, 2014, 03:06:09 pm »
I've noticed in roleplays that people will often type long, elaborate posts on simple things, like their charcter falling asleep, grooming, or even just describing that character. Why? How come more people don't type posts to further the plot?
Lok at these to posts I made up.

Post 1 (Pretty):
The young she-wolf yawned as the warm morning sun woke her from her sleep. She stretched her body out in the cool dew, basking in the sunrise's red glow. She sighed quitely, so not to wake her pack, because she knew that the peace was not to last.

Post 2 (Productive):
The young she would yawned, and looked around her wearily. She sighed as she saw the red sun rising. "The battle field will be redder than the sun." she said, trying to hide her fear from the waking pack.

See the difference? The first one sound pretty, but by not describing her feelings or the situation well, it doesn't further the plot. The second, however, clearly says her feelings and gives a better view of the situation, and it prompts others to respond. That is the key detail. With the first post, it is harder to confront the character. In the second, you could have tied confronting her by saying something, now that she has spoken.

I hope I'e explained myself ok?

Forum Games / Let's Write a poem!
« on: June 18, 2014, 02:34:05 am »
You must write 2 lines. The first must rhyme with the person's above you last line!
Ex:

P1
I was hungry
I ate a cat

P2
The cat had eaten a rat
The rat was black and white

P3
The cat rat filled me up all right
But then an alligator ate me

GO!

Game Help / Seamless Canine Texture???
« on: June 18, 2014, 02:24:57 am »
All the canine textures I find either distorts the body color differently from the head, or it doesn't like up right. Does anyone have one that looks smooth?? I'd prefer not super realistic, but anything works.

Game Suggestions & Ideas / Invisible Wings?
« on: June 18, 2014, 02:01:18 am »
I really wish that along with "Angel" and "bat" wings, we could have invisible wings. It be neat for RolePlays, plus would make the wing items much cooler.

Um
That's really all I have to say :P

Hello everyone!

The Elements Of Aerth, is a new roleplay in the works. It is heavily plotted, which is why I'm advertising a bit early. It is also mapped, with 4 different maps to explore! You are expected to have fairly proper grammer, and type enough to continue the roleplay along- in short, you should be an experienced roleplayer.

TEOA has it's own species known as Niferen. They are tall, canine esq creatures, with the power to bend to of the four elements to their will. More information will be given to those who join.

In TEOA, there will be different plots, the first being Awoken Spirits. Plot run down:
Aerth is in bad shape. Lack of Food, Illnesses, and general poor conditions have driven the Niferen to ruin. Now, The best of heart and skill must journey to the elder temples, to plead for another golden age. Some will die along the way, and relationships will form over the quest.

This roleplay WILL have meetings, but we will try to make to so everyone can come.

Mocha Cocoa's Mapping Tips and Trick!
So yeah. This does not explain how to actually make maps; this is for those who know how to make maps already. If you don't know how to make maps, here are lots of other great tutorials on this board! Here is where I put all my tricks on making maps, covering all part of map making! This is a huge WIP though. I have no idea if any of these things cause lag, I personally never lag.

No More Flat Maps! (May Cause Map Lag?)

By flat, I mean it wont be boring flat. So not like it would have been in the second picture.

Set The Scene With The Sky
Its hard getting the mood right for a map, and I've discovered one of the best ways is simply by making a custom sky. But you won't get your scary theme by making the sky blood red. Certain colors portray a mood.
Purple- Discomfort, Eerie, Creepy
Blue- Calm, Peaceful, Natural
Red- Fear, Pain, Horror
Grey- Dull, Lifeless, Empty (Fog Illusion)
Orange- Warm, Comfort

Don't use solid colors, try to only tint the sky that way.
