More registration difficulties?! [Solved]

I successfully registered a new account, but when I went to activate it, the activation link wasn't recognized. I tried logging in, but it said the username doesn't exist. I couldn't try making the account again, though, because it said the username was taken and the email had already been used, when I know the email had not been used. So what the heck's going on with registration this time?

Let me know if that works. This problem has been going on a fair bit so this isn't abnormal.

Nothing wrong from the sound of it.

Just probably you that didn't activate the account in time before the registration closed.

Just send a mail to [email protected] USING the mail LINKED to the account you just made. It can be any text and subject within the mail you send as long as the mail address used to send it was used when you signed up for an account.

If that doesn't work and you cannot log in afterwards, you either didn't send the mail to the correct address provided above, the mail address you used to send the mail wasn't linked to the account, or because the account never was made to begin with.

Hm... That makes sense. I actually had the idea that that might be it, but I didn't think much on it. I did as instructed, and now I can only wait to see if it works. I'll edit this post with results sooner or later.
Edit: Five hours later, no change.

Solved! I may as well post the solution so others with the problem can refer here and figure it out much faster.
In the end, it had been too long for the account to have not been activated, and the server deleted it. Now I just have to wait for next registration to try again. Remaking the account is a lot easier than making a help thread, waiting, and trying out all the suggestions, only to have every attempt fail.
