Two words:
Movie Spammers.


^This was taken not even 1 minute after joining the server.

Ever since General chat was removed from the public maps, Movie clips are the only ways of advertising roleplays. I have no problem with the normal people who post a clip, wait for a while, like five minutes or at least two minutes until they post the next...

BUT

I guess everyone has met the very determined and very persistent movie-maker crazed individuals who post the same movie six times after the other, no matter if their movie was flooded away or not. And not only one does this, but many more at the same time. You cant even RP without having to block movies, and cant chat without being interrupted by a huge block of these things from the same user when you are looking for roleplays so you dont want to block the clips...

And they even start a spamming war! Like, one of them starts spamming with three after the other, the other one will follow right after them... Some even -after making the clip- post twice or three times, just to be sure. Geez we saw that movie the first time too, thank you...

I guess we either need an advertising chat type, so in a way General brought back, but with a different name so it will be used for advertising -because really, the name 'general' wasnt helpful against spammers- or there should be some kind of limit put, so you could only be able to post a clip like... once every two or five mins....

So, what is your opinion on this matter? Are you guys finding them annoying as well, or you just block movies altogether? Do you have any advices how to solve this? Do you have screenshots of extreme movie spams? Share it with us!

Okay, while this issue was fixed yesterday magically, I am more than sure this will happen again, since not even Tigg knows what could have caused my issue.

So... since more than a month I was unable to connect to the forum. All that came was this error message:

Now the problem was not the bookmarking. Since I tried both writing into the browser, using my bookmarks, and searching with google and then clicking the link that it showed me, even using Tigg's link.
I have not changed my computer and internet settings either.
I also would like to note that I have numerous times been blocked from the forum by the security system, who said I am a spambot... Though, Tigg said that this time it wasnt the case.

So... what could have caused this error and what could I do to prevent it from happening in the future?

okay okay... i know.
Items wont be added as it seems because Kovu doesnt want hackers.
But this is a kind of idea that might solve it?
(not sure if it was suggested or not)
You know, how in IT ppl wanted so rare items, and hacked for them? Because some were rare, and you could gain them by hunting?
Then how about making all of the items available to all the users?
At char creation, you could select what items you want to apply to your character. Lets say a maximum of: 4-5 items? Or less.
This way, Kovu doesnt have to worry about hackers, as every item will be available to everyone. No need to hack. right?

i have a problem from the beginning of fh.
and i would love to hear your opinion and thoughts about this matter...
on the forum, sometimes i cant post my messages, or topics because my IP is blacklisted.
like this thread, im sure i have to reload the page a couple of times before it is as kind letting me post.
im sure im not the only one having this problem.
-doesnt let you post, have to reload many many times.
-if accidently logged out of forum, cant get back on, because it says: access denied, IP blacklisted
-if logged out and cant get back on, if you have questions or a problem, it cant be answered because you cant get help on the forum

it is just annoying.

everyone who doesnt know about blacklistings because they are lucky:
Blacklist means a list of IPs, which had been reported of various reasons(like reported for spam sending, virus sender etc.), and so every site that uses this "security" database, wont let these IPs register, post messages, log in etc.
So, if you are sharing IP with someone, you can get randomly on this list as well, and then in the next moment you cant log in or post.

i say this is a awful "security" system.
why?
1. there are hundreds of innocent users who cant register or post. nor play because they cannot create account, because they are accidentally sharing the IP with a reported site
2. new spam senders appear in a matter of moments, so the blacklist is useless against new ones.
3. many spam senders and virus sender sites dont exist anymore, but the IPs are still on the list
4. its super annoying

i understand that FH just wants to secure themselves from spam bots, and virus senders... but
this is the MOST ridiculous solution ive ever seen!
ive NEVER seen any other forum use this "security" database. i wonder why.. oh because it isnt 100% secure, and is annoying to users. and maybe they do know about ppl sharing IPs nowadays. its really common now.

best solution, that every other forum uses to prevent spambots:
we all know it...
the good old random letters or numbers generator (one of them called captcha). it wont register computers automatically. so this means: no spambots.
and about virus senders.. new ones always appear, and they use proxy so useless anyway.

so i say: this whole blacklist should be removed and let users post and register peacefully.

Well... lets see...
Forum:
The forum in all looks great, the colors represent the savannah in a way(for me at least), but the black background makes it too dark for my eyes.
The moderation: is great as well, the threads get answers quite quick now.
The only problem i have it currently is the
security datadase: IPs getting blacklisted because they are supposedly sending virus or spam. They have to remember nowadays ppl share the same IP. Ive run in a few threads concerning this, and i myself am experiencing the issue (and no, some ppl like me cant change our IP because the internet provider forbids it or cant do so, isnt allowed etc.) im sharing IP with half of my town, around 2000 ppl. Plus no other site uses this database.. why not put a random code generator in at the register screen to "test if you are human" to prevent spambots registering.
Community: not always the most polite, got a few smart@ss remarks here and there, but overall the community sticks together in a good way as i see it. which is pretty important.
But all other things are just fine.. oh yes, and maybe there should be a rule to not bash other games.. ive seen my share of WQ hater threads (dunno really whats their problem.. dont like it dont play it)
Game:
Overall the game is awesome. The graphics are good, the wide variation of actions/emotes/markings/bodypart types is awesome as well. Though there are still a few things missing (like a few dances) but im sure Kov will add them later on. (plus maybe the headbang dance should be fixed? the butt movement ruins it all in my opinion)
People say the buttswing should be taken out: well i personally dont have a problem with it, i did experience this issue, and unlike others, who block these players, i simply turn around and tell them some "nice" things. They usually stop and leave me alone after.
The behavior: It was reeeeaaalllyyyyy bad first, now it seems ppl are actually getting more mature and realize how childish they look if they place curse words after every second word (well it was quite hard to understand them XD). I would still like to have a slight filter (not big one) just to filter out the most known bad words (maybe should be put in as an option) for the sake of complaining parents/brothers/sisters etc, and the 13- children. After all we are all humans and we value the younger kids, after all they are our future, and if we all curse etc before them.. then how do we await that they will respect us when we are old and need a place to sit down XD. Its bad enough.
And no, even though COPPA is there, children under 13 CAN register and play if they are in countries COPPA doesnt reach. Like mine.
Moderation: hmm well, cant really tell how it is, never had a serious issue, but i guess what i heard its good too XD
Chat: free, and awesome, now you can turn off the "etc arrived/left/dc" thing. A huge plus for me. Maybe a bit too free but.. whatever Kov thinks. Its after all a RP game.
Bugs: there are a few... okay maybe a bit more than a few but hey, its a free game, and im happy enough it came out and is running so just ignore these and just go on like nothing happened.
Music: nice music change there, gratz. i really like it, it represents the lion king more. Plus, unlike other games, it lets you put in your own music if you wanted. Another huge plus to the dev team. *hugs*
If i had to put this game on a scale from 1-10, 1 being the worst, 10 being the best... FH would land on the 9th on my scale.
(dun forget guys, nothing and noone is perfect, keep it in mind)
