What do the member ranks mean and how do they move around?

Hey, um, I've been wondering how this whole member "rank" thing changes. Do you have to have a certain # of posts or do you have to have your floof-o-meter at a certain place or what? Can some one pleas inform me? Thanks! Its not like its very important or anything but I would just like to know! ;)

It does count. Having to start a topic to count as one when some people have 4000 posts would make no sense.
In fact, I think I've only started around 4 topics.

There are only certain forum boards where you can add to your post count.
Boards that aren't related to FH (such as Discussion board and Off-topic discussions) do not add to your post count.
