What happened to DarkPetal?

I saw a bunch of people with "In memory of DarkPetal" or "R.I.P. DarkPetal" in their signatures. Who is DarkPetal and what happened? I'n not trying to be nosy or anything but I must have missed something because I have no idea what's going on...

Details from one of the 'memory of DarkPetal' suggests that the actual user (as in, the person who /is/ Darky) died.

I dunno who Dark is, since I never knew em' personally, but from deductions made on the forum, she was a rather helpful user. Not lovely in every way, yet none of us are- but quite helpful.

I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't met Darky either (actually neither real life or online) and I'm still really sad about this. D:

Darkpetal was a 14 year-old girl in Scotland who could be seen around the roleplay forums and Art. She died in a car crash due to a drunk driver. You can see more if you click here.

But DarkPetal isn't truly dead; her spirit lives on in heaven (my attempt to cheer you guys up about this tragedy). She will never have to worry about being hit by drunk drivers again, and she is in a better place. Try to think of it as losing a phone connection. You'll all see her (and I'll meet her) in heaven some day. I hope that at least helped...I'm at a loss for words at this.
