Password reset not working

I got lucky finally and got in a new username and registration after trying to reset my password for TWO WEEKS and it kept saying it sent it but it never did. I double checked everything, the spam folder, the blocked senders, waited a whole day. No matter what it wouldn't send the reset. I mean, I have this account now so it's not super important, but I liked my old username.
Why would it do this?

Hmm, 'ave ye checked that the email has no typos in the address? A single out of place symbol will send it to someone else's email account. A password reset usually takes up to 48 hours to send. 'Twill most likely end up in y'er junk/spam folder, so either keep checking there or the "All Mail" folder.

How many times 'ave ye tried in the past two weeks? This could be cancelling the email and sending the new one, which will make ye wait up to another 48 hours f'er it to send. I'd recommend sending it once more and waiting the recommended 48 hours.

I'm 90% sure I waited more than a few days at one point, but I will try waiting a few days now and resending it to see if I can get my old account back. And yup I checked the spam/junk folder every time. This one when I registered sent right to my inbox even.

Ah. Well, it could also be the type of email y'er using. I 'ave heard of a few members with email accounts that may not get this reset email. I use gmail and get m'emails no problem, so I don't know if this be true or not. Just listing things that may be the cause.

That might be it. The old email was a live one, and now the one I registered with was a gmail, and it even sent me the password reminder within five minutes.

Ah, that may be. Ye could always try making a junk gmail to swap with the old email and try the reset then.

Also, how long 'ave ye been away from the account. It may 'ave been deleted due to inactivity f'er a long spanse of time.

Wouldn't it tell me the email wasn't active then though? I was away for like a year but I thought since it kept saying it sent the reset, it was still "active".

Oh, let me rephrase that. I was meaning y'er in-game account. Emails don't deactivate, at least I don't think so.

Some FH accounts get deleted when a person no longer plays the game f'er a really long time. 'Tis to recycle and create more space, I believe. Y'er forum account may stay active throughout this process, but if ye been only gone f'er a year, I wouldn't be too concerned 'bout this topic. If ye were gone f'er 2+ years there would definitely be that possibility.
