Explicit Ads.
« on: May 19, 2016, 11:13:11 am »
I hope I put this in the right discussion board.

I've been noticing more explicit ads for games showing up on my screen, such as women without any clothes (I mean I'm not complaining but the children-) on and Frozen games involving a pregnant Elsa (What even ? ? ?) and I kind of just want to point that out.
I even got an advertisement a moment ago that had an advertisement of Grand Theft Auto, which is //REALLY// not child-friendly.
Remember, FeralHeart is a game accessed by people of any age range and especially popular among children + young teenagers.

Is anyone else getting this or ?
Don't certain staff have a filter for ads like that or... ?

Yeah I've been getting many ads, but I ignore them a lot. I always see ads with "This pill will make you loose weight." And I get ads with games that I've never seen or played before. But what I would do is get a ad blocker. But most ads I get they don't bother me a lot, but they only bother me if its inappropriate.

I use Adblock so I don't have the deal with the ads (and the website shames me for it all the time), but once in a while if I use another browser or computer I do see some of the more inappropriate ads. I've never seen anything too bad, just a lot of scammy "u won an ipad!!! click here to WIIIN!!!11!" sorta ads, but those could still cause trouble for younger or less internet-experienced members. I'm not sure how much control staff have over the ads that are displayed on the website, but it would be nice if they could do something about it.

Like many websites, ads will show up. However, the ads vary from user to user depending on what they browse.

A lot of websites have ads running in order to make money to keep the site running. Hence why it'll give you a message asking you to remove adblock if you use that.

I understand how it may be annoying, but as I said.. It depends on what the user browses on their client.

To be honest, I have yet to see those types of ads. Mostly I see pop ups that involve kid shows and upcoming movies.

Keep on traveling across this road called 'Life.'

It depends on what the user browses on their client.

I can verify this. Recently I had to follow up on my health insurance so I was on the New York State of Health site filling stuff out and well what do you know:

I've been 'aving a similar issue. I normally use m'phone f'er the FH forum 'cause I'm always moving and don't 'ave time to use m'laptop. Lately, though, a lot of pop up ads 'ave been appearing on m'screen and 'tis more than less irritating. Ev'ry time I go to a new page on the forum, a new ad pops up and I 'ave to tap around it to make it disappear. 'Ave we switched ad companies or something, b'cause this hasn't happened b'fore?

Tmw you planned a ten minute nap but instead took a whole year.

Well, I use an adblock, but I do know, to elaborate on what Ressy and Sura said, that dependin' on the browser, the ads may "tune" to the users' "interests," though usually it's very obscure and blown out o' proportion. For instance, if one watches a lot of anime from the browser, the ads may come up more explicit.

I have problems like these, except they're with dumb war game apps (when I'm going mobile) or on my PC I get ads from the Humane Society XD
(Because I was looking at shelters to no avail about a month ago)
Did you know I make games? :D

I don't understand why I get these ads that I'm getting if they're said to be related to my searches despite that the majority of my searches is "byakuya togami gifs".

it's official guys
"byakuya togami gifs" search = grand theft auto and women without clothes on
