Leaving / Taking a Temp Leave

Hey all.

I'm putting out this thread to let you all know that I will be on a temporary leave from both Feral Heart and Staff.
Many of you may be aware that I have had, well, quite a rough past year, with the ending of a toxic relationship, the loss of my mother to cancer,
and my transition between not 1, but 2 different colleges. I have finally found a place and school where I am happy and excited to be, and now have a large social circle that is taking up most of my time.

With that, I won't have the time between classes and friends and social events to properly contribute to the Feral Heart community via my role in staff. I have decided that it is best to pull my name temporarily from staff for my first semester at my new school (probably for a couple months). I feel it would be wrong to have the community rely on me when I won't be available to provide. I'm very faithful in the staff teams that are organized now and believe that they will do a tremendous job.

Alas, this isn't goodbye forever, but just for now. I'll still be in the background every now and then, and you can always reach out to me if you want to talk to me via discord.

I'd like to wish a very happy birthday to my dearest friend and staff buddy, Ressy!<3 Ressy is such a sweet, caring, and strong individual and I'm honestly so lucky to be able to call her my friend. Hope today is filled with lots of joy and excitement as you celebrate your birthday today! I know it's getting late in Sweden, but there's always time to celebrate <3 Love ya girl, hope its a good one!

Forum Discussion / Redundancy on the Forums?

Well, I've strayed away from this topic for a while now, because I could see how it could come off as controversial and I'd really hate to facilitate a feud here, so let me start off by saying that this discussion topic is in no way intended to offend anyone or come off as a complaint. This is just an observation of mine that I noticed and I was curious to see if you have noticed the same thing and have any opinions on it.

This is something I notice a lot in the Game/Forum Help boards, but the observation I've been making is that there seems to be a lot of redundancy in posts. This isn't happening all the time and everywhere, but I've noticed it more times then for it to be a coincidence. What I mean by redundancy is that, say someone puts out a help thread asking a question. And a generous handful of our community comes to aid this person in need of assistance. Which I totally love! It's so great to see that there are so many people willing to help out an individual here.

The case of redundancy comes about in the replies: What I've been noticing is that suggestions and ideas are often repeated. An example being that Person A replies to the help thread with the suggestion of, I don't know "Restart your game" plus a few other things. And then Person B will sometimes come along and say "Restart you game like mentioned above" or "Restart your game, like so..."

Before I become hypocrital, Yes, I am guilty of being that Person B too, it's all fine and most of the time it ends up helping to reinforce or better explain what the person before had said.

But do you guys ever think, that maybe a post like that is unnecessary? It almost seems odd to me that we have to restate the answer given above maybe just to get a post in or get acknowledged. Maybe that's not always the case and maybe we want to restate the idea just to be an extra helping hand. I'm not saying that it has to be driven by a jealousy factor of the person helping above. And this is such a general thing too. It pertains to plenty of other websites as well, Yahoo Answers for example.

So I guess the main questions here are: do you notice this happening on our forums? What do you think about it? Is it necessary and for a good reason, or is it unecessary and for publicity/post for your count? Is there something that you would suggest to users who would like to help others but not seem redundant?

Discussion Board / Who else is hyped for the Fall?

Hey floofs~! I'm writing in orange this time to honor the aesthetic here, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who's hyped for the autumn/halloween season! I don't know about you guys, but I'm honestly so pumped for autumn to roll around. It's one of my favorite seasons because everything is so colorful and aesthetically pleasing. And not to mention Halloween is my favorite holiday, being a horror enthusiast myself. Also, shoutout to anyone who's psyched to wear pants again with semi-cold weather because man am I sick of the heat. xD

So, who's ready for the fall? Is there something particular you like about this season that's different from the rest? What's your favorite thing to do around this time of the year? Are you doing anything fun for halloween, or maybe dressing up as something cool? I'd love to hear what you guys think of this lovely season<3

Forum Discussion / How important are the forums to you?

Whew, okay, so I just came back after a vacation and a few days of unannounced inactivity due to summer school work *shakes fists in air* but the first the I noticed when I logged into the forums was the overwhelming stack of "Unread Messgaes". Normally, my method of checking messages includes first skimming through new replies to my posts, and then checking the unread topics to see what's up. And yes, I normally sit there until I've gone through them all XD

So I was just wondering, how important are the forums to you? To me it's like a whole other fun community in itself, almost like a fun place to share and create and chat. What do you guys think about it? Are you as crazy as I am to go through every new topic? How much time do you find yourself dedicating to the forums? What do you enjoy most about them?

Game Discussion / How you go about making Character Bios?

Another topic of discussion I came across while derping around in game, but I was curious to see how ya'll write your bios for your characters. Me personally, I like to lay all genetic and basic profile information about the character, and maybe fill out some small history/backstory, but leave the personality open and generic as I really love character development.

So I was curious, how do YOU write your bios? Do you go in depth, past the FH box's limit and onto a RP site? Or would you rather leave room for character development through RP? Or perhaps you write just enough, but not too much?? I'd love to hear all your methods! c:

Forum Suggestions & Ideas / User Announcements Board?

Alrighty, so after seeing lots of people wanting to post updates/personal announcements (such as account changes, new social accounts, etc.) and putting them in places like forum discussion, game discussion, etc., I realized that there really is no "proper" place to put said threads. Correct me if I'm wrong as I often miss the little nuzzled in child boards, but I don't believe there's really a place that these types of threads can snuggle in.

The reason I advocate for this is that I know lots of people would like to post things such as "Moving Accounts", "Got a DeviantArt, view my art here", "Making FH music videos, support me here" etc. Now my idea isn't for a status update board or anything like that, as status updates can really become redundant and unnecessary, but I think it would be nice to create a User Announcement board for any users who have the need to notify the community of above updates & more. Now I know the users needing to make the announcements could always send out PMs to friends and those who they want to know of their update/change, but with lots of friends in our fluffy community that can sometimes become tedious. Also, if users wish to announce their new account on another website/social media site, it also gives them a chance to get themselves out there and make new friends.

So what do you guys think? Would this be a helpful change for our community? Yay or nay c:

Game Discussion / Most Memorable Moment(s) in FH?

Hey all you lovely floofs<3

I was recently reminiscing about FH memories, and I thought it would be a cool idea to ask others to share their most memorable moment(s) here on FH. I know that when I joined the game way back when I made so many friends and had some really great times. It's sad to say that most of these friends and good times have passed on (Though by no means has the game become any less exciting!). But thinking of all that brought me back to some of my most cherished memories of how I joined the best RP I've ever been in and how that one pack will definitely go down in the books.

So I was just curious. What are some of your best memories made here in FH? What were they like and why was that experience memorable and cherishable to you?
