Would you?: Respond if someone 'in real life' called you by your username?

I'm curious.
It started when my friends from school started asking for my number and/or skype username. When I told it to them, they didn't question "Ruby" at first, but once they got added they saw that I do not use my real name on skype, as it is currently set to "Ruby | Sacred."
So they asked me why it was so, so I began to explain my whole situation with being a total techie, and not wanting to use my real name online. I told them, that I "would probably respond to anyone who called out, 'Hey, Ruby!'" or anything of the like.
So of course, they tested this out. In the hallway at passing time, I heard someone shout out, "Ruby!" And I responded.
If someone called you by your common username in real life, would you respond too?

my friend will just randomly yell out "ZADY" if i'm not responding to my real name...

in fact i respond more to zady than i do to my name!

Lol, i'm not too often called by my user because no one near me even knows FH exists u.u But if someone happens to shout out BLOO or BLUE then I turn around with a confused look on my face haha

XD Some of my babies already do, since I used to be on FH with about three of my very, very close friends. Plus, irl, everyone just calls me Kitkat at times since I will admit.

I'm addicted to that delicious Chocolate on Wafer. If anyone asks me anything relationship status wise, I just say. "I'm married to my kitkat. He's my hubby. c:"

Oh this is really cool topic. I will keep eye on this. I also added real life friends to skype where am named as Kate they also asked me why. I explained them like you but they didn't test it out
But I am pretty sure if anyone would call me "Kate, Wolfkate or nicekind" I would react/respond to that.

Really only good friends from here know my real identity so I wouldn't mind responding to Sura in real life if they called me that but no one else... Cause I'm a ninja.

Pshh, I dunno really. I'm known as Tachiru around the interwebz, and I recently changed my Skype name to Tachiru, so if someone shouts "Tachi", "Rinny" or "Tari" I would probz turn around. x3 Since I live in Croatia, most people don't even use "usernames" or even know Feral Heart exists, let alone anime. (<3) So I'm the weird hipster kid who spends the whole day playing one game.

xD Random fact about my name, is that I actually came to my original name : kitkatgirl, all because of being called Kitkat irl.

Strangely, I have allot of nicknames, two being Kitkat and Misty xD (long story on Misty owo)
