Is it possible to recover presets?
« on: August 18, 2017, 07:12:53 am »
Heyy I'm back again! So I have the downloads to two of my wolves presets but as you can imagine, that doesn't mean it's going to download the art files of the preset. Only the coding for others to see it... I'm sure I'm just dreaming with this but I wanted to make sure if there's any way to recover them and use them as my own again through those downloads?

Arf, well, if you have the .fhp files of your presets, you'll still be able to use them.
So long as your username still matches the .fhp file, you can easily slap the presets on your characters, still. While you won't be able to make any changes to their designs without the original files, since others will be able to see them on you, you should be able to as well.

Me hopes I'm making sense here...
Like, if I were to lose one of my preset's original files but I still have the .fhp, I can still slap the preset on since the file matches my username.

I can clarify if need be!

You are making sense! I do have the .fhp for both of them just.. Where exactly do I place the file to get it to show up in my game so I can select it? Stupid question I know but I'm not sure whether to place it in my_presets or not. Will that even do anything?

Place the files in presets or PrivatePresets if you have the preset sync. You should be able to put them on or have that option to, afterwards.

Unfortunately, I don't have that option. I placed both the files in presets as you said and made sure the names were the same as my user but they still aren't showing up in the custom list. Apologizes if this is confusing you.. It sure is me.

And it seems that the two files disappear from the preset folder for no reason... I don't know where they keep going. :/

Huh.. Me's heard of presets disappearing in the preset folder if one has the preset sync which is why the PrivatePresets folder was created but I've heard not this before, presuming you don't have the preset sync.

Are you in possession of the preset sync at all? Perhaps an older version? If you are not, me will have to do some digging as to what the problem could be.

I didn't even know what the preset sync was. You were the first person to let me know that it even exists. I checked and I don't see any preset sync file so no, I don't believe I am in possession of it.

My apologies for the late response.
I cannot seem to find the source of the problem for your presets disappearing as they have. It could be a newborn glitch.
I've nudged a member of staff about this and hopefully an answer will be found soon.
Until then, sit tight. Perhaps another fellow member will know what's up and come along to provide further assistance.

I'm dearly sorry for the troubles you are experiencing.
