Forgotten maps
« on: August 18, 2018, 10:01:29 pm »
I guess this isn't really interesting but I remember downloading a lot of fun and interesting maps years ago on here. Some were for packs and some were just never used in general. Now that I got my files back, I was able to re-download them. A lot of them are still so fun to re-explore but I kinda feel sad that they'll never be used again, that is if they ever were in the first place.

Welcome to the world of Feral Heart modding.

Where unless it's a modpack that can be used en masse and is easy to install, your shelf-life will vary from an hour to a day.

That's how it is with most mods on games, come to think of it.

I totally get this. There's been a few maps I've downloaded for roleplays that unfortunately went inactive and most of the members disappeared... it's kinda depressing to explore the maps later on, knowing it'll likely never be active again, especially if the maps weren't up for public download. And there's the maps whose downloads have just been lost entirely...

Sad but very true. It all just feels like so much effort and potential just thrown away though. I wish so many maps got more recognition.

Yeah! It's just kinda hard to let these maps go after having fun memories in them and knowing the maps were special to your pack or something. Hits me right in the feels.

I know the feeling. <3 It's a bit somber to revisit old maps where fond memories were cultivated as part of our Feral Heart experience. I still have a few older ones that I visit from time to time, for nostalgia's sake. Despite the fact that many are not frequently utilized any longer, I have found that just spending some time exploring can be an excellent way to foster creativity (even for non-FH-related purposes). If the map is a public one, it's always there for more people to download. Perhaps a roleplay may eventually find its home there-- you never know.

If you define yourself by the power to take life, the desire to dominate, to possess… then you have nothing.

i've been in roleplays in the past with absolutely amazing private maps and it really sucks seeing them go to waste.
there's one in particular for a savanna rp i was in long ago that looked pretty basic but it had a lot of content without being cluttered. there's another one that had multiple tunnel maps. what sucks is that i can't go back to them because they were on my old dead computer.

I truly miss FeralHeart's old maps. I have been wanting to download some, just to relive my early FeralHeartian days. I am a sappy sucker, so no doubt I'd start crying!

I hope the new maps do the old justice. They deserve to be loved just like the ones from the past were. In fact, all these new maps can be loved. They're just as unique and wondrous to explore on their own...I mean, Zama Grotto, a cavern under the water? That's amazing. Sea creature role plays should take place there! Sadly, most of the maps aren't populated. I feel as if it's because they're hard to find.

Grand opening of FeralHeart tours, lol. ^_^

I never really downloaded add on maps . But I feel like the most forgotten map of all was Atlantis. Seriously...what even went on there?

Most maps are forgotten....   seems sad that so many maps are created with massive effort but there are duplicates much like them that go unused that would be perfectly fine stand ins.

The closest concept in english would be 'rustic'
They might have an old thing, one example is a favourite bowl or dish, it's broken, pieces are missing, why fix it?  With gold and pieces from other dishes?

Yes! Oh my, I remember it now. That's where my real life friend and I went to explore! It lead to Last Cave. It seemed as if they existed for such a short time...oh, Ascension Island and Sky's Rim. South Pole. My, my. Nostalgia.
