2. This map is fantasy, yes, but please - no sparklers.
3. Swearing and Light-Medium Gore is allowed, but don't go overboard.

The Claimable Dens...

So you want to claim one of our free dens? Well, there are rules to this, as well...

1. Your group must have 7+ active members.
2. Your group MUST be Literate.
3. Your group must be semi-realistic or realistic. (Basically, we aren't giving the dens to sparkle or winged groups. Sorry.)
4. Preference will be given to other Savannah cat/animal groups.
5. Do not ask to base a group in the Battlelands. You can send your exiles there, but no groups please.

DEN #1 - Anebis

This den comes with a fireplace and beds, set at the mouth of the bay near Fungi Ridge.

DEN #2 - UNCLAIMED

This den is one of the smaller ones offered, no beds, and is in a location surrounded by somewhat toxic smoke. (Aka, it'll lag you if you're not careful.)

DEN #3 - UNCLAIMED

This den is the smallest of the dens, but it is conveniently set right next to the entertaining Wateringhole.

DEN #4 - The Swahili Tigers

Set high in the mountains, this den is the second-biggest. It comes with beds and is surrounded by all sorts of tropical plants.

Please fill out the following form if you're interested in a den:

Le gasp! What's this? A new map by Kerrigan? No, it can't be... But it is!

??Edenwood??

Follow the great river, climb the winding dirt roads, live in a paradise... Edenwood is a place untouched by modern time. The trees here still beckon to be rested under, the river and lakes still want to be swam in, food is plentiful, and all the worries of the outside world will be no more as long as you stay. But this cannot be all, can it? No, of course not. Like all heavens, Edenwood, too, has been through hell...

Some of you may die, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make: This map may or may not kill your FH with utter beauty and gloriousness. Kerrigan is not responsible if your computer faints from this map.

40k+ in size, this map is the first map I'm releasing to the public this year. It originally started off with trying to terrain my hometown, buuuut.... yeah.

YOU MAY:
    - Host rps here
    - Use the umpteen-thousand dens
    - Enjoy glorious pretty things
    - Tolerate me if I come and sit next to you in-game while on my patrols. I JUST WANNA WATCH. D:

?Feral Heart Projects?
WIP Projects
Listed below are the Maps and Map Packs that Kerrigan is currently working on. Pictures may or may not be included. Ordered in terms of Kerrigan's urge to finish them.

[v1.13] The Darklore Territories: Final Expansion - The third and final expansion for the Darklroe Territories map pack.
What's Currently Planned for Final Expansion:
- New maps! I don't know how many, per se, but somewhere in the 4-5 area.
- Weather!  Version 2, unlike the original, didn't have weather. Weather is optional, for those who can't handle the awesome.
- New music! For new maps and a few old ones.
- Make-overs of some current maps! I'm not telling which ones.

Completed Maps
Listed below are the Maps and Map Packs that Kerrigan has put out for public download. There are some that have NOT been updated to the current version - downloader beware! Links are in map titles.

[v1.06] Lacroa Castle - Welcome to the Kingdom of Lacroa - a land of magic, chivalry, mystery, and Knights. In the middle of Lacroa lies the noble Lacroa Castle, nestled in the branches of the Mana Tree that is rooted in the First of the Forebearer's Footsteps.

[v1.06] Iron Ore Valley - A simple map, the once home to the Ironclaws Pack. It's a valley and mountains, with a waterfall-fed river running through the center. (This used to be the base for my wolf pack, Ironclaws Pack. We shared the map with several other groups, but all the groups have since left. THE MAP IS FREE TO USE.)

[v1.07] The Black Spire - Long ago, The Black Spire stood mighty and proud in the middle of the ocean. It stood as a shadow of a by-gone era, a beacon of the vanishing magic in the world, an example of... tall black spires that were ever-so popular back in those days. Then one day, no one quite knows why, it was abandoned. Alone, unmaintained, it sat in its sea-home for thousands of years until it was rediscovered quite recently and opened to the public. Because it's old and falling apart in some places - you'd be good to mind your step.

[v1.13] Edenwood - Follow the great river, climb the winding dirt roads, live in a paradise...

[v1.09] The Darklore Territories - This is my most famous Map pack, with well over 2,000 people having downloaded it. There are around 14 maps total, with plenty of custom maps and music. Each map has a little side-story! Click the title to be brought to the download thread with all the pictures.

Character & Roleplay Tutorials / Feral Heart RP Guide!
« on: December 04, 2011, 06:47:58 pm »
(I originally had this posted in the dA groups, but I've gotten a few requests to post it here. Enjoy.)
Hello, boys and girls, Kerrigan/DimensionGal here to bring you a new tutorial on what RP Skill Levels are, what is usually required of each Skill Level, and the different types and styles of RP. This tutorial really only applies to English-speakers.

?RP Skill Levels?

In-game, particularly in Fluorite's General Chat, people advertise for Role Play groups. But sometimes, they advertise their groups with certain requirements that tend to baffle the unaware. I, myself, have been one to go for and advertise for groups looking for "Literate Members", and yet the same groups often get people wishing to join that aren't what was called for...

Literate RP - Also known as "Lit RP" or just "Lit".
A Literate RP is just what it means, you must be able to write correctly in English. It means you must know the difference between your/you're, there/they're/their, and other such commonly mixed up words. You must also be able to use punctuation correctly most of the time. Members of these types of groups don't mind if you typo now and then, usually, but they want to see that you're capable of meeting their standards.

Literate RP groups generally like to do a style of role play called Paragraph, there's more on that in the last section.

Semi-Literate - Also known as "Semi-lit RP" or just "Semlit".
A Semi-Literate RP is a little harder to define, as it crosses both Literate and Basic RP. Groups in this category will accept all types of RP Skill Levels, but generally try to avoid taking in the Illiterate if they can help it.

It's hard to define what style this Skill Level does - however they're usually seen doing Scripting, there's more on that in the last section.

Basic - Also known as simply "a mess" "RP".
A Basic RP is the most illiterate level of RP. Here, people rely on txt tlk and broken grammar with no punctuation to communicate in the role play. It's common knowledge that monsters such as Mate-beggars, Sparklers, and Godmodders are often found on this Skill Level - though there are equally as many "realistic" users who spk @ dis tlk. For those used to Literate RPs, like myself, this is a nightmare - but Basic RP makes up about 70% of the RP I've personally seen on FH.

Basic RP is extremely common in Mapless and Spring-up RPs, there's more on those in the second-to-last section.

?RP Types?

There are at least four different Types of RP, which require your character to look a certain way in order for you to participate.

Realistic
The Realistic Type requires that your character have a "realistic" appearance. Your pelt/underfur/eyes cannot be a color not found in nature, nor may you have any obscure markings. Often times the group is organized in a manner similar to real-world Wolf Packs or Lion Prides. This is one of the two Main Types, often found in Lit and Semi-lit RP.

Semi-Realistic
The Semi-realistic Type is far less rigid when it comes to your charcter's designs. I, myself, do enjoy this Type quite often. Your character's choice of colors is expanded, but this Type generally doesn't allow neon or bright colors. Your charcter may also have whatever markings you desire, though those markings may not be crazy colors either. This is one of the two Main Types, found in all Skill Levels.

Pre-design
This Type is especially rigid when it comes to character designs. Occsionally they require that your character have a specific hairstyle or mane, and you may choose from either one to a small selection of Markings. Your character's facial and body features will have to meet a pre-designed limit. These are often made-up or realistic breeds, and this Type is mostly found in Lit RP.

Fantasy
Fantasy is an everything-goes, no-one-cares-what-you-look-like Type. Everything's allowed, except for Sparkledogs and Glittercats. As long as your character seems to have a formulated appearance and you can read basic English, you're good to go.

?Group Types?

Plot Groups
Plot groups often times have plots - storys that the RP is centered around. (Though a GOOD plot is not always certain.) It's best to join these types of groups early-on, as it's rather hard to get new characters involved in plots the further along it is. These groups are more apt to have their own maps that you will have to download.
Mapless Groups
Sister to Spring-up, Mapless groups are just that - groups without maps. They use the public maps like Bonfire Island, Ficho Tunnel, Fluorite Plains, Temple of Dreams, and Cape of of Distant Worlds. People often go to these groups because they cannot download maps due to parental controls, their computer's processing power sucks eggs, or they simply can't use a computer well enough to install maps.
Spring-up Groups
Spring-up groups are the sister to Mapless groups. The type of group with the shortest lifespan, Spring-ups arise from a flock of people who can't find an RP with their mindset - so they go and make their own temporary group. They usually happen when people get on minority characters during a majority hour. (Like going on a Lion during "Wolf Hour" or going on a Wolf during "Lion Hour".)

?RP Styles?

Paragraph/Novel
This style is favored by the Literate. It's in-depth, and written using quotation marks for dialogue. Think like reading a book. Novel is much longer than Paragraph - where Paragraph is simply one-to-two messages long, a Novel may be five messages or more. Since there is no BOLD or italics function in the chat boxes, emphasis may be made by putting words in asterisks.

Paragraph Example
It was a cold morning. Rain fell from the sky in buckets, and his fur clung to his skin in chilling clumps. His dazzling white paws were soiled by the mud he walked in - something he did not particularly enjoy. When the wind blew, his dark bangs suddenly stuck to his face and he let out a deep, frustrated growl. "It had to rain *today*," Amainu grumbled, pathetically blowing his hair from his face."Goddamn it."

Scripting
Scripting is the easiest style. Quotation marks and symbols denoting character speech are not garunteed, and actions, rather than being described, are often put inbetween asterisks or dashes.

Scripting Example 1 *
Amainu: *it's raining, so he blows hair out of his face* Goddamn it.

Scripting Example 2 -
Amainu: -it's raining, so he blows hair out of his face- Goddamn it.

Hope you enjoyed this little guide to the RPs in Feral Heart. Maybe it helped you, maybe it didn't, maybe it was TL;DR. If it helped, I'm glad it did - if it was TL;DR, oopsies~

Game Help / Some issues with Fluorite Plains
« on: October 15, 2011, 11:53:54 pm »
Okay, so for the last hour I've been trying to get into Fluorite Plains.

Either I get the standard "Cannot Connect to Map Server" issue or FH crashes. When it crashes, I get no OGRE errors, just "FeralHeart.exe has stopped working". I can connect to Bonfire, Ficho, the Cape, and all my custom maps - but not Fluorite.

Is anyone else having trouble with Fluorite? I know that it happens to go down time to time, but I've never had FH stop working during those times.

Please, no "noob answers".<.<'

Game Discussion / Your Opinion on Cross-gender RPers?
« on: September 25, 2011, 12:00:18 am »
Some people have issue with this fairly common practice, it seems. I got into a bit of a debate about it once when I was in Ficho Tunnel - and now I bring the question to you:

Do you have a problem with Guys that RP as Girls and Girls who RP as Guys?

Well, this may sound odd, but I've been kicked out of rps before because I was RPing as a male character. I'm a female, irl, you see. (That and my username is "DimensionGal".) They said it creeped them out that I was playing a dude when I was really a chick. This absolutely baffled me, as I like to play male characters. (But I have a pretty even male/female character roster.) I also know plenty of guys who masquerade as female characters.

Is this an issue for some of you?

Game Help / Game won't read .fho file
« on: September 23, 2011, 10:13:45 pm »
You guys know me - I wouldn't be posting this if I hadn't done all the "noob" solutions first.

I've got a map for a group I'm in, that when I go in it I can't see certain meshes. Basic meshes like rocks and Acacia show up just fine, though. Other members of the group can see the custom meshes, I can't.

I've tried cleaning out older maps that I don't use anymore that also use those custom meshes, nothing. I've tried putting all the files in one at a time, nothing. I've tried restarting FH several times, nothing. I've even made it so that it's the only map in the whole folder, still nothing.

I've had problems with the same map in its older versions, as it wouldn't tell me when people arrived even if I had the "Arrival Notification" turned on.

Any ideas, Super Map Force Team?
