Community Activities Hub / Speedpaint Q+A?
« on: July 02, 2019, 11:20:47 am »
Something I copied from my DeviantART Journal:

Recently I watched a neat little video on YouTube where an artist played a speed paint whilst answering some questions people had for them, and I'm wondering if this is something you guys would be interested in seeing from me? A speed paint, with gentle music in the background while answering some questions perhaps. I just wanted to know before committing to it...

In fact... maybe throw some questions my way and we'll see where it goes from there?

Try to keep the questions art related, you're welcome to ask some personal questions too but I don't know how many would make it into the video if made. I can try show mini-tutorials in a smaller window in the video maybe, depends how far my skill can go with that in the video editing side of things but I have a talented friend who can help with that.

Here's my Forum Art Gallery filled with my favorites, if you need help with question ideas!

Name: Natalie (please do not use unless offered to).
Age: Twenty-three (10.06.1998).
Birth-place: UK, England.
Level 4 HNC Qualified in Animal Management.

I have a few hobbies in the real-world. Photography and art to name a few. Professionally, I have passion for the duty of care to animals. No matter where I land, I would love nothing more to have a career where animals are the main priority. Veterinary Nursing is one career I've had in mind for a while, but I don't believe I'd want to take that path on any rout other than an as an apprentice. I have a job which I'm good at, and many amazing family and friends who love and support me. I also have a diverse collection of animal companions including my cat (Stella), and my Bird and Bearded Dragon (Bosley and Reggie). I could not be more grateful for the life I have today.

Other than what I share under 'basics', I didn't share the interesting fact that during the end of 2014 and at the beginning of 2015 I had two spinal surgeries! This was due to Scoliosis and a Tethered Spinal Cord (which I didn't know I had until I was having MRI prep for the Scoliosis surgery). Scoliosis is a condition that is basically a curvature to the spine. It can form through either growth spurts, horse riding, or through genetics. Unfortunately I don't know which one as all three were possibilities and were present during diagnosis. As for the Tethered Spinal Cord, your spinal cord is supposed to release itself at a very young age (around the time you're toddling). However, mine didn't! So not-so-lucky me had to have two procedures done to separately fix the two and I also had to learn how to walk properly again after the spinal cord surgery. Woop woop.

I registered with the game 8 years ago back in 2012. I started out under a different name back in the day, but changed my name to Bawfle a few years after. This game has shaped me more to the person I am today than school ever did. A lot of you know that I have a great involvement with the game. A lot of you may even remember me serving as a Moderator from Feb 2015 through to March 2016, until it came to an abrupt halt due to some conspiracy which revealed itself last year (which would be very inappropriate for me to share details of).

During my time here on FH I feel it's safe to say that I have made a mostly good impression in the game, considering even today continue to receive recognition, occasional kind praises, and general appreciation for the efforts I made with the game before, during, and after my time as a Moderator with the game. Not to toot my own horn or anything; this is just generally something I am proud of and appreciate whole-heatedly whenever it happens. So thank you if you are those individuals who do such things. I don't really know what else to put here honestly, but if you want to know more you're welcome to ask.

Here's to wishing and hoping your Birthday was splendid, and here's to celebrating the Birthday of one heck of a dedicated user with us here on FeralHeart.

Game Help / Faulty terrain texture in old map
« on: February 09, 2019, 07:43:32 pm »
Usually I can fix 1001 things FH related, but this issue seems to have me stumped.

I recently released a map of mine that is roughly 2 years old. I haven't had any issues with it in those 2 years I've had it, until now. The issue being the sand texture not working. Here's pretty much some time lapse of what happened:

- A couple days ago I sent the map to AlphaEclipse to just show her an old map I made. She was the first person to notice that a terrain texture was missing, so I gave her all the sand textures I had as I couldn't remember which one I used. I assumed it had been fixed because there was no confirmation it worked, but we were caught up in the map to even check that.

- Earlier today (before the terrain texture started being faulty) I took screenshots of the map ready for release. I could see the texture just fine.

- I later approached Ressy asking if she could test out the map because I have 3 sand textures in my textures folder that look similar but couldn't figure out which ones I used (lightbeachsand.jpg, darkYellowSand.jpg, and softSand.jpg). At this point I can still see the sand, but she had the same issue AlphaEclipse had and couldn't see any texure where the sand was meant to be.

- I joined her in the map, then suddenly I started having the same issue. Something that never happened in the 2 years I've had the map. The sand wouldn't show in Gawana Island, but it would show in Gawana cave. I logged off then joined back later and the sand wouldn't show in Gawana Cave either.

This doesn't seem to be a Rendering System issue, and the only thing I've done to the files are send them to people. I also can't go in and edit the terrain texture in the map maker either because I lost the files for that as they were lost when my previous PC broke down.

If anyone has had this issue before and knows how to fix it, that would be amazing.

Finished Maps / Gawana Island
« on: February 09, 2019, 06:08:43 pm »

Gawana Island is a medium-detail map I designed and decorated roughly 2 years ago. I say it's a medium-detail map as it's less detailed compared to what I am capable of detailing now.

This map is (and was used as) an ideal social hot-spot. Gawana Island was a map made for me and one other person to hang out in before we went to bed during our Moderating days. It was generally an ideal place to escape to take a break and enjoy company. The reason I'm releasing it now is because it's no longer used by us together, so I wanted to release it so it wasn't just there collecting dust.

This map isn't something I can update as I lost the files on my old computer before it broke down. I don't think I would have wanted to update it at this point anyway because it holds many memories, and I'm not sure I want to change the environment those memories were set in. I hope those who use it enjoy it!

There is a current fault with the sand terrain texture which wasn't an issue before.
If you have suggestions on how to fix this, please look here. Thanks.

Figured I'd make a thread for the YCHs, Auctions, and Sales I make and advertise. I don't really want to over-crowd my Art Gallery thread with them. I'll be sure to specify what is open and what is closed.

Going to be a busy few upcoming days with volunteering, work placement, and then travelling abroad to spend Christmas with my Partner

But if I don't see people in-game between now and boxing day, have a very merry Christmas and I hope it's a good one!

Praise / Happy Birthday, Sura!

You are one of the most patient, loving, nurturing, and caring people I know. You've helped me through really tough times- this year especially. And you've been patient with me through countless others.

You are a blessing to this world, and nothing can truly keep you weighed down for long. You have yourself a very Happy Birthday. I love you lots.
