My Game Will Not Start

Every time I open it up it says 'Not Responding' and never shows anything but a grey screen.

Hmm, first you can try right clicking the game's icon and going to "run as administrator." If that doesn't show a good result try some of the following:

- Go into C::Feralheart/media/particles and delete any ending in _0, _1, and so on. You could also search "particle" in your PC and delete any ending in _0, _1, etc. Particles can sometimes find themselves in other folders such as my_objects and exports.
- Change your rendering system by doing this:
First, go into C:/Feralheart. If you look at the FH main folder, you will see a flie called:
'orge.cfg'
Click it, and open it with "NOTEPAD."

Look at the first two lines in the orge.cfg file. That is where you change your rendering system.

If you followed everything that was typed and the instructions in the pictures, you should have successfully switched your rendering system.

Also, have you reciently installed any mods?
Hopefully something there will work.

I have added Mass markings and items but I have been able to use the game since I put it on.  I don't understand the notepad thing.

Basically the "notepad thing" is how you change your game's rendering system. You want to go into C:/Feralheart and look for a file called "ogre." It's a .cfg file, which means it can be read and written in. You'll want to click on the file twice, and if it says it can't open and you need to chose a program to open it with, open it with "notepad" or another program that you can edit text files in such as .txt, .cfg, etc. Once it's open, look at the first two lines. You'll see either

Render system=OpenLG Rendering Subsystem
[OpenLG Rendering Subsystem]

Or
Render system=Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]

What ever yours says, change it to the one you do not have. So if you have Direct3D9, change it to OpenLG, and vise versa.

It now reads,
Render System=OpenGL Rendering Subsystem
[OpenGL Rendering Subsystem]
Colour Depth=32
Display Frequency=N/A
FSAA=0
Full Screen=No
RTT Preferred Mode=FBO
VSync=No
VSync Interval=1
Video Mode=800 x 600
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]
Allow NVPerfHUD=No
FSAA=None
Floating-point mode=Fastest
Full Screen=No
VSync=No
Video Mode=800 x 600 @ 32-bit colour
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No

I changed OpenLG to Direct3D9.  it is still not working.

Are you running the game full screen or no? If so you can try running it windowed, or reinstalling....which may be the last option. Also, try using the notepad method, but leaving your old rendering system, do not change it. It helped that way when I did it the last time.
