I have never played this game before and i can't log in because I'm banned

I recently created my first account and i logged in and it said i was banned. I have never logged in with any other account.
-Username and IP provided removed for safety reasons-

I think it has banned my ip because my friend came over and logged on by accident with a banned account?
is that the problem?

If your password contains more than 16 characters then you will not be able to login using your current account. If that's the case then you'll have to make a new account, unfortunately.
