Chapter 1
[/center]
A dark forest, with winds shrilling highly, appeared at a pale tabby she-cats sight. It grew closer and closer, its shadows now lapping at her fur. She slipped into the forest, leaving paw prints in the soft mud. The forest was almost so dark, that she almost couldn't see the way herself. WindClan scent still was left on the paw prints, yet stale, defeated by the foul smell of mud. The she-cat was named Sorrelpaw, and she was from WindClan. She decided to have her own adventures, finding nothing to do out in the warriors forest, but to kill, train, eat, hunt, and sleep. Patrols too? Whatever. Finally, she could find a faint glow of white stab her eyes. Moonlight. Finally, the dark clouds moved, opening the bright moon. She looked over the forest, like a aware owl watching for prey. Finally, she could feel something ooz between her toes. More mud. She frowned, lifting her paw up to not see her white toes, but more of brown. What made it so wet here? She flinched. Was there a type of flood? Never mind that. Now, she started to hear the angry shrill the wind made, when it started to rise. Now her fur was being blown madly like a waving tree's leaves would go. Now her ears were pinned to her head, to not get a crisp of that wind's cold air. Its good to be around trees, since it would block some of the wind out. Yet the days remained cold, even in camp it was. She lifted her head to sniff the air. She caught a trace of mouse. Deciding to make a move, she started to look around for it, taking light careful steps and avoiding twigs on the way. Finally she caught that furry prey. It founded itself a seed, its teeth gnawing at the seed's brown crust. Sorrelpaw could only lick her lips, just to get the sweet aroma from it. She started in a hunter's crouch, the way her mentor, Briarmask, taught her. She better not miss this one. Without the tabby apprentice making one sound, the mouse poked its alert head up, and started to dash away. Now even she could hear what the prey was frightened about. Just to turn her head, she saw to felines. "What-" She growled, seeing the two cats to be almost the same size as her.
