Since I see the same questions lingering around and a few seem to still be confused:
Early Friday morning (EST time that is) there was an incident of some hacking in the game. A particular user(s) found a way to get on staff accounts and cause havoc over the chats while abusing the staff powers. The users used the red staff chat to shout nonsense, accuse other communities of the hacking, make threats, and request other strange requests things of the users. There was also abnormal manipulation of the character size sliders going on so much so that there were squished and misshapen characters running about.
Keep in mind that there was no breach of personal data or passwords though (as that is protected else where) but rather a breach in the general security of the game's coding. The "hacker(s)" simply took advantage of this security flaw that was left in KovuLKD's coding of the game. Had we had the source code we would have patched that flaw up already, however we now have yet to work around this limitation to make up for what we lack.
The reason the game is offline is because the staff took it offline while we assess things and decide upon the proper approach to securing the game. Our server host Razmirz takes this task seriously and wants to devote all the time he can to making sure everything is worked out right for everyone. Raz works long shifts though and as you can imagine it's quite time consuming to do this sort of thing at the spur of the moment. I assure you all though that Raz is working to get things up and running safely for everyone again in his limited spare time. We can't emphasize enough how much we appreciate all of your continued patience and support at this time.
It's difficult for us to say exactly when the game server might be back up since it's all dependent on when we find the right solution , integrate it, and test it. We do hope to have the game server back up soon though so just hang in there guys.
