Sudden advertisements on FH

  I think this might be the wrong place for this... It isn't a  thread asking for help, and I'm not asking for something to be added or removed, so it's nlt a sggestion or idea. So I figured this was the best place, so hopefully I am right XDD

  Has anyone else noticed sudden ads popping up every where? I came on today and random words in posts were underlined, and when the mouse went over them an advertisement popped up. I was fine with that, I can avoid rolling teh mouse over, but then suddenly an ad popped up. you know on deviantart when you are not logged in you get sent to a page that is just an advertisement and you have to click continue to get to the page you were on? That was what popped up. And as i was scrolling through a thread one of those annoying corner ones that you can't just scroll past because it scrolls with you popped up.

  I mean, I'm used to the usual small ads in between posts, those are fine, they're even funny sometimes, but it is a little ridiculous when a logged in member has to hit skip on an ad to get to a thread.

Yeah i have noticed that too.
And when it came up i was like 
Never seen that before.........very weird
I guess people want to advertise there products on as much sites as possible 
Dosn't bother me that much anyways

Whew, I started running a virus scan and everything thinking I caught something, glad to see everyone else is getting them too.

My first thought was "What the heck? Did I accidentally go on FFN instead?"

Usually I see these kinds of ads in places where the pop up to keep the site free. It's really unusual to see them here, especially for users who are logged in. It's got me curious as to why, but it doesn't really bother me that much. I'm used to just skipping over an ad.

I worry about viruses only when I click a link on google and it takes me to something completely different, like a faulty search engine. > >"

Yarp, you're not the only one. I've been seeing them too (as well as a lack of any mods/admins online the past couple days... it scares me.)

I've seen the admins more active than usual the past few days, lol.

  Yeah, I've seen plenty of mods and admins, perhaps you are just missing them XD

But the advertisements are getting annoying. :l

  And the advertisements have been cut down, I was talking to Raz the other day and teh pop up ads have been limited to one every 24 hours (Before they were very frequent) and the number of rollover ads have been reduced as well, and rather than green (which stood out too much in my opinion) they are yellow. Also, the thing that was putting malicious ads up has been removed, so there shouldn't be any worry about virus's anymore.

Unfortunately ads are the price we have to pay for a free site... lol.
