Codes to make better presets?

Okay, so I know how to make simple presets, but I know that there are codes to make them transparent, glow or move.
I was just wondering if anyone of you could give me those codes and tell me what I have to do with my preset to get that effects to work.

Theres a tutorial on glow in the dark presets it comes with codes too. I dont really understand the codes though
