try saving the map under a different name, it sounds weird but it works sometimes and the map must be a .png file

If placing the map files into the Feral Heart "Exports" folder didn't make it work right than try placing the files as so:
FHM files go into FH> Media >Terrains
FHO files go into FH>Media>Objects
FHS/FHW go into FH>Media>Sky
MP3 files go into FH>Media>Sounds/Music
Then restart the game

neither of those worked! im starting to think there's something wrong with my game, reinstalled or not.

Is your height map too detailed? Once I made a height map and I had to erase some stuff before it started to work.

If none of it worked then it's possible you damaged, misplaced, or lost some important files while adding the map or some other mod to your game.You'll need to uninstall the game and delete the main folder before reinstalling the game again. Just remember when you do this be sure to back up any important files like presets etc in a folder else where in the computer so you can replace them back into the fresh new install and not lose those files.

i just tried making an entirely new map, it still didnt work

What are the details of the map?

try telling us the size, format, stuff like that. because there's no reason that it shouldn't be working even if you make a completely new map
