Have you ever "cheated" in a game?
« on: December 16, 2016, 01:29:45 am »
By when I mean cheat, I mean either use a bot or use side characters to gather the starter's xp resources or special money (for farming). In topic, this is only in question for massive multiplayer online games that have went back on their free to play customers and went buy to win.

I've certainly done it. I used Archeage's simple need for a new email for every account and farm gilda stars all day on side characters. I also tend to use my side characters as storage and leave the side character afk all night, gathering labor points so that I can use them for a specific task such as farming and all.

It's quite ingenious, how us gamers get sneaky when the game makers get unfair, eh?

Share some of your stories, I'd love to hear ideas. Lmao.

The only cheat I've used is for The Sims to spawn myself monry.. and Age of Empires, mainly "whosyourdaddy" and "pepperonipizza".
First one being an extremely overpowered car that would one shot anything. Second being spawning resources.
RETIRED.

No but i did exploit game engine physics for my own advantage.
Wait.. i may have jumped fences in a game because the opponent was almost indestructible and had to trap them in fallen debris of an ice cavern, not sure if that was cheating or creative.

Woah really?  How you use cheats in AoE?  i might have a disk that came in a cereal box somewhere.

The Japanese concept of wabisabi:
The closest concept in english would be 'rustic'
They might have an old thing, one example is a favourite bowl or dish, it's broken, pieces are missing, why fix it?  With gold and pieces from other dishes?
"Because it was my favourite & I like it"

Sometimes I 'cheat' on a game if I'm really stuck, I'm not the best at gaming so, I cheat most of the time. But as Reckless said, I mainly only cheat for Sims, Like the money cheat.
On leave.

I cheated on Voya Nui Online Game, the combatting system was pretty tedious and I wanted to get over it quickly so I found this list of cheats and used one that grants me a massively overpowered weapon, an artifact that made me nearly invincible, and one of every item in the game.
I did some at Spore too, but it was nothing too drastic, only needed the space stage monies.
Otherwise no, I haven't cheated in my more recently owned video games.

Does it count as cheating when you look up a guide with answers for the a game?
I played Danganronpa and I was stuck at one point, so I had to google a guide that basically gave you all the answers.

I have not as it is usually against the rules and is very likely to get you banned.

---

I have however cheated in many offline games for the sake of entertainment, having two armies of photon men (I don't remember the code. xD) giving a laser show on Age of Empires 1 was very fun! ^.^

In recent years though, I have stayed away from cheating and play games with a more "I've got this." attitude. :D
For the sake of my own health and interests, I've left FH and I won't be looking back.
