Feral Heart

She wasn't quite sure if she was allowed to eat, so hesitating, she sat. Melena curled her tail around her paws, grimacing warily when two pups came yapping and bouncing by her. Pups always made her wary, when they weren't dying or bleeding to death or coughing to death at her feet. Luckily they didn't pay her any mind and were gone before she felt forced to recoil back into her den.

Melena lined up all her clay jugs and bowls, and then stepped back to examine her work. How she was thankful no wolf had been hurt lately, she was starting to wish something would happen. She shook her head, her miserable thoughts put aside for productivity. Melena's stomach grumbled, and with surprised, wide eyes she looked over her shoulder at the entrance to her tiny meadow, wondering if there was a group out hunting.

Melena slowly crept out of her healer's place, flickering her ears this way and that, and she sat down just outside the entrance.

((Omg, I haven't been here in a while and I'm sorry for that, but as it appears I have no excuse that's worth telling, :s I'm a very boring person.))

Melena nosed a small pile of leaves together, her mind drifting off to this and that as she sorted and separated herbs and plants. She sat up, sighing and looked up at the thicket roof of her smallish, domed pasture. Sunlight drifted in through the cracks in the bramble, and thorn vines. Was anything exciting ever going to happen?
