PLOT

The Reaping

In each district, there is two glass bowls full of slips of paper. In exchange for supplies, your name can be put in more times. One of the bowls is for males, the other for females. Every year, an escort will pull one name from each in all of the districts. These two will be tributes in the Hunger Games. All tributes are aged 12 to 18.

Training

In training, all the tributes will be given time to become prepared and learn certain skills. This will also give them time to interact with the other tributes. They are cared for here, in much better conditions than in their home Districts.

The Games

Once placed in the games, they can choose to go to the Cornucopia. This is supplied with lots of weapons and supplies, but this can also make you very vulnerable and usually results in a large bloodbath. You can avoid it and head straight into the other parts of the arena. The games continue on until one victor is left, whose name is taken out of the bowls and is given freedom from the Games for life.

THE ARENA

This year's arena takes place in a mountainous area. The Cornucopia is placed in open ground, and then goes straight into large mountains. If you get past that, there are forests and a lake.



The mountains are rough, rocky, and snowy, and don't provide much food. There are lots of caves and holes in the mountain as use for a shelter or protection from the weather. A few animals live here, including mountain goats, bears, and cougars. They have been trained to be very aggressive towards humans, though if killed they can provide some meat. Other small animals can rarely be seen here including foxes, squirrels, and raccoons.



The forest may seem to be the best place to stay, but sadly it's too good to be true. Almost all of the plants and fruits are poisonous to humans, and very few animals live here besides a few squirrel. The few things the forest offers is wood, hiding spots, and a squirrel if you can find one.



The lake is filled with clean water and lots of fish to hunt. Though it will take a long time to travel here, it is one of the best places to survive. But, it lacks hiding places and shelter, so it would be best to hunt here during the day and move back to the forest during the night.

THE DISTRICTS

District One

"District 1 makes the luxury goods that decorate and beautify our great Capitol. Its excellent taste and craftsmanship keep Capitol residents bewigged and bedazzled year-round."

District 1 is one of the wealthiest districts of Panem. Its primary industry is manufacturing luxury items for the Capitol and as a result, has a generally favorable relationship with the Capitol. These luxuries include diamonds and other precious gems, such as emeralds and sapphires. It seems that parents from District 1 name their children after precious items and their attributes, such as Glimmer and Marvel, which may be a reflection on their "glamorous" nature. Children in District 1 almost always seem to take pride in competing in the Hunger Games, and are among the group of tributes that band together to pick off the weaker contestants, known as Careers. District Two

"Our nation would be nothing without District 2's superb stonework. It builds and fortifies our cities and its citizens are known individually for their strength."

District 2 is one of the thirteen districts of Panem. Its main industry is masonry. It is one of the largest and wealthiest districts of Panem. Furthermore, they train their children ready for the Hunger Games each year, and the tributes from District 2 are known as Career tributes, as they train their whole life to compete in and win the Games. District Three

"Panem is one of the most advanced nations in mankind's history, thanks to the efforts of District 3. Its computers keep us all connected and its electronic gadgets keep us all entertained."

District 3 is one of the 13 districts in Panem. Its main industry is technology and it is one of the poorest districts. It specializes in televisions and computers. Most of its inhabitants work in factories and are very well adept with engineering. (Copied from HG Wiki)

District Four

"Do you like seafood? Shrimp and crabmeat? Often overlooked, District 4 plays an essential role, bringing us the bounty of the sea. These citizens are adept with nets and tridents, and can swim like fish themselves."

District 4 is one of the wealthiest districts of Panem. Its industry is fishing, which is useful for tributes in the Hunger Games as they have experience in using nets and tridents, making fishhooks from scratch, swimming, and identifying edible sea life. Being one of the wealthiest districts, District 4 tends to produce Career Tributes, who volunteer to participate in the Hunger Games. (Copied from the HG Wiki)

District Five

"Electric, solar, and nuclear - District 5 harnesses the energy of the earth and the sky in order to power our great nation."

District 5 is one of the thirteen districts of Panem. Its main industry is power and electricity. Therefore, this district is responsible for generating the power of the entire nation. District Six

"Our hovercraft, our high-speed trains, and our cargo trains come to us from District 6. Ironically, the citizens here have little love for travel."

District 6 is one of the 13 districts of Panem. This district's principal industry is transportation. It was heavily bombed by the Capitol's Air Forces. It is hinted that having a Morphling addiction may have been a district-wide issue as Katniss nicknamed the victors of District 6 "Morphlings" because they were addicted to the painkiller. Most victors from this district take this drug to forget what they experienced in their Games.

District Seven

"This beautiful district is lush with trees, from which these citizens supply our lumber and paper. The people of District 7 are hardworking and down-to-earth."

District 7 is one of the thirteen districts of Panem. It's hinted that it is a middle-class district, like Districts 3, 6, and 8. District 7 provides lumber for the Capitol, and its people are known to be good with axes. District 7 is apparently covered with large portions of forest and has a dam nearby the district.

District Eight

"From the simple, lovely fabrics of the districts to the brocades favored in the Capitol, District 8 makes it all."

District 8 is one of the thirteen districts of Panem. Its main industry is making textiles and clothing. It is described as "an urban place stinking of industrial fumes with no greenery, the people housed in run down tenements, barely a blade of grass in sight."

District Nine

"District 9 is Panem's bread bowl, giving us the fertile harvest we need to keep rising as a nation. Its amber waves of grain are an inspiration to us all."

District 9 is one of the thirteen districts of Panem. It is responsible for grain. It is mentioned that District 9 has many factories, most likely for grain processing.

District Ten

"The gentle lowing of cattle is the first thing a visitor to District 10 hears. This region raises strong, healthy livestock, which becomes the meat that helps us raise strong, healthy children of Panem."

District 10 is one of the poorer of the thirteen districts of Panem. Its main industry is livestock, and provides beef for the Capitol. Since they are in charge of livestock, it can be assumed that the majority of District 10 is farmland.

District Eleven

"Known for its bountiful orchards, District 11's workers spend their days among rustling fruit trees and sizeable farms."

District 11 is one of the poorer of the thirteen districts of Panem. Their industry is agriculture; orchards, fields of wheat, and cotton surround the district. Almost everything they grow goes to the Capitol, despite their starvation; if any citizen of District 11 is caught eating any of the crops, they are to be whipped in public.

District Twelve

"One of the outer districts, this is nonetheless a crucial one. These brave and hardy workers descend deep into the earth each day to mine the coal that keeps our nation running."

District 12 is the poorest of the thirteen districts in the nation of Panem. It's located in the Appalachia and has a population of around 8,000 or more people. District 12's main industry is coal mining.
