SOPA/ACTA/PIPA?

I think they're a good idea to fight against pirating!
It's good to defend copyright laws, but they're taking it a bit far. (Sign a petition!)
I am against them. (Sign a petition to stop them!)
What? (Check out the many helpful links below for more information)

@Lawcere you may want to make a list of petitions by country in your post

The basic petitions that you've already provided are really all that's out there right now; the protest against ACTA isn't very country-specific, so there aren't many petitions that would only gear toward Australians or Japanese. Instead the petitions give the option to select your country when you sign.

I've put them up on the front page along with some links to government information, as well as a petition against Lawful Access for other concerned Canadians.

:) Thanks for your help. If any of you find better links to stronger petitions or specific information, let me know!

Oh wonderful!!! I was actually trying to look for those. ACTA is a on stariods verson of SOPA that I see as highly invasive. Piece o crap....

It would be a true sorrow if FaceBook and Youtube was taken down. Such a shame if it does happen :( But I can't stop it, nor can I help it. I'm just an American! Please don't take our freedom away!

These bills are ridiculous. I've been signing all these petitions, and showing support against it.

heres my oppinion of SOPA and PIPA: a long time ago we fought for freedom and thats what we got. Now if they pass these bills they will take it away? Basicly thats what SOPA and PIPA are doing...Of course i could live without the internet but there are some people out there that (if they pass this bill) will start riots and such. And with the bills being passed...and some of the websites being shut down people WILL lose their jobs. Really arnt we trying to prevent people from losing their jobs? really congress...really?

I know right? I agree with you. Our rights as Americans are being pulled away as the years drag on. As for SOPA/ACTA/PIPA...well, they pretty much take away ALL our freedoms from the internet, and plop jail time on top of it. That's how bad Congress is, yes. With SOPA and them being released, I've just lost all hope in government. I'm ready to move. LOL.
