Custom Objects or Any Meshes Don't Appear in Custom Maps
« on: November 17, 2011, 11:42:29 pm »
Okay, so whenever I create a custom map, and make custom objects or anything that includes object maker, they DO NOT show up on the map when it is exported.Yes, I do make an object folder, and no, I do not add too many objects in it.I create an object folder and add all the custom objects and such into the object folder and then I export it.People who download the map and the object folder do not see the objects in the map including myself.I have asked help from friends on FH, but still the objects are not seen in my custom maps.Someone please help me!

What group did you put them in when you loaded them into object maker? One of the default ones like 'mytrees' or a custom one?

Here is what I do with objects.I create objects in object maker, and I put the different objects into different files such as if I made an aok tree with waterfal material for the bark, I would add it to the trees object folder. Then I would go add that object to the map using the custom waterfall oak from the tree folder. Then I would export the map and go back to object maker where I would create a new folder and add the waterfall oak into the new file, then export it.Others would download the object folder and the map, but the objects would NOT be seen in the map after download, and I would NOT see the objects either.

I understand but you didn't really answer my question. What object group did you put them in? Did you make your own or put them in one of the games provides?

I kind of answered that above.I create my own object folders and I do not use the ones provided.

The fact that you are using 'folders' though confuses me. Folders are in the game files themselves, while object groups are what you actually put them in ingame.

I meant to say object groups sorry, there are so many different words for these things X3

Did the objects show up before you moved them into different groups?

If you mean if the custom objects showed up in map maker after putting them in different group folders then yes, they did, but once exported and or downloaded the custom objects did not show.I had made a new object group, and added all the objects from the map into the new object group, but they DO NOT show up in the map.

Same thing happened to me when i did that. Because you moved the objects to a different group they wont show up on the map (obviously). Try moving the objects back to the previous group and they might show up again. It would save time putting the objects from the new group onto the map depending how many objects were placed.
