Game Help / Re: Can anyone help me with my map?
« on: January 02, 2016, 08:40:54 pm »
I used Photoshop, is that the issue?

I'm trying to make a map for a future roleplay of mine, but I'm having issues with the map. My height map it 513x513, greyscale, in .png format, but the game crashes whenever I try to use it! Firstly, I'd like to know what all of the requirements are for a height map, and secondly, if I were to send the map, sky, terrain and all of those files to someone else, could they put the map tongether for me and send it back to be edited with objects and whatnot?

Thank you for any answers!

Edit: I fixed it! :D I'm so happy thanks guys

What is it like to be imprisoned? What is it like to be stripped from all that you knew; your family, your friends, your home? To be sent to a cold, hard place to be poked and prodded, to where no one loves you, you are only used for another's benefit. To be infiltrated with alien things, just for the sake of curiosity, without regards to your health or even your life. And to be in a room, with many others of the same circumstance, some crying until they lose their sanity, calling out to anyone to hear them. And then to watch others, quiet and solemn, letting the walls close in on them. What is this? Slavery? Torture?

We are Laetus Inquinatum.
[/b]

... Laetus inquinatum is the scientific name for a species of genetically modified species of ex-wolves. The name roughly translates to "tainted colorful", referring to the markings on these canines.

Scientists believed they had found a serum, that when injected into the subject, would send tiny electrical particles into the bloodstream, which would paint their body with vivid, pulsing markings reflecting their inner aura. They didn't know what good it would serve, besides perhaps for fashion, so they tested it first on animals captured out of the wild.

Many wolves were captured and caged to be tested on. Each subject was injected with the serum, and each slowly developed their own, unique markings reflecting their own, unique character.

This really surprised the scientists! Who would've known wolves, animals, would have such intricate personalities? This pushed many zoologists to experiment with these new creatures, the Laetus inquinatum.

And the poor creatures themselves, many crying in misery every day and others just waiting to starve themselves to death, could do nothing about it. One of these wolves, would sit days at a time in his cell, intricately planning a breakout.

He talked to all of the wolves, who were caged, and promised their freedom. At first, many were skeptical, but then they grew desperate, and trusted him. He told them each what they were to do. Each of the species was told to do a specific job. It would be risky, but they fell through.

Eventually, it happened. Everything went as planned, and soon the creatures were back home. The male who had planned the escape was given the nickname Decode, and it what he still goes by today. Many of his species, in shock, ran away from the lab. It would be tricky to cope with others as they were, and he wanted them all to stick together. However some did not listen. And Decode still looks for them today.

 ... Hello, Feral-Hearters!
This is the basis of an old roleplay I had, but had died out. We're advanced/literate, semi-realistic, and soon to be mapped! I'm looking to bring this roleplay back and I may give out higher positions to those who join first.

Our site is http://laetusinquinatum.webs.com. If this interests you so far, please post here, whisper me in game [ Earyn ], or preferably note me on dA at LogicalEaryn.

Samples are required and your character must be approved. Thank you!

I agree, although literate, semi-literate and illiterate are kind of universal terms to indicate writing skill.

I tend to use the term advanced more than literate, since it's more than saying "we're literate"... meaning that you have the capability to read and write, if that makes sense.

... this is why we don't come up with the rules.
In case you're not joking, this isn't a real list for Feral Heart. Just a little fun list of "rules".
c:

Oh, I got another one.
If you get rejected from a group because you tlk l1k3 dis the person that rejected you is a mean person and you can report them to the staff.
Haha, I know. xD

Game Discussion / Re: What do you think about Mate Centers?
« on: February 18, 2013, 04:11:59 am »
I really agree with pretty much everything Genesis said.

I go to them a lot. I've even made a mate center, and I use it pretty frequently. It never bothers me, and I've never had very many lag problems.

The main thing that bugs me about mate centers is not the mate centers themselves, but the others in Bonfire/other places who stereotype people there as mate beggars or illiterate sparklethings. I've seen plenty of literate people at Mate Centers. Once even, we had a roleplaying session at the mate center, a literate one, let me add.

The way you go about getting the mate bothers me too. At first, when I was a mate center, I made the person elaborate on themselves a bit. Everyone found this to be stupid, so I stopped doing that. I wish there were more that did things like that. Like a "Date Center", where you at least get to know someone before you become their mate, instead of on their appearance.

I've gotten a mate from the mate center before, and we talk a lot. We don't necessarily roleplay together, but our characters are mates. We just talked a little bit at a mate center, then went elsewhere and chatted, and then we went back to the mate center, and yeah. :I I don't think it's very possible to "fall in love" at a mate center.

That really bothers me. It also bugs me when a pup say "oh no my mom and dad hated me so they tried to kill me but somehow i managed to survive". The ones who say that they killed their parents are a different story.. I won't go there. I usually just say "Well, your parents wouldn't have had you if they didn't want you :I" and kind of move on, but seriously?

And all of my characters are adults.

Edit: I also agree with the above, the stereotypical stuff just really doesn't sink in.. if it's more unique than almost being killed by your parents/pack/others and survivng and etc, then it does have effect.

There was this one time that I was roleplaying with some literate friends of mine and we were all chillin' and this one fae starts to hang around us. So the leader accepts her into the pack,  she fell in love with him, and then she poofs for a while.

During roleplay the leader and another wolf was shot by human hunters (not actual people, just pretend) and she came back when he was on his last leg and started to say "OH I LOVE YOU! I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT..........." As if we hadn't noticed; she was saying things like *she looked dreamily into his eyes* etc. And then the whole flames in the eyes thing happened, and she went into this emotional state, where she ran away feeling all depressed, and then she  came back and was like, "Oops, that was the devil."

We kicked her after that.

Personally, human roleplays on FeralHeart bug me. It's kind of hard to roleplay a four-legged, long faced, pantless human, right?

.. right? xD
