Game Suggestions & Ideas / Re: Toggleable Swimming Animations?
« on: March 13, 2020, 02:02:13 pm »
That's a good idea! I also kind of wonder if it would be possible to link a "toggle swim" ability with a body part, similar to how the "fly" ability is linked with wings. xD Maybe you can walk underwater if you have a special fin or a tail?

Preference definitely does play a part! Lots of wolf roleplays are out right now.

Ironically, I actually haven't made a serious canine character in years. I stick to felines. :D

I feel like no matter what happens with the maps, there will be people unsatisfied with the final decision. Seems like all of the options have downsides. :<

~ Leave the new maps and don't bring back in the old? Older members who want to feel nostalgic can't.

~ Bring back the old? They're too big and far too empty with the current member count we've got. Seeing Fluorite with >30 people in it all crowded around the stone bridge to advertise would just make me kinda sad, honestly.

~ FH+'s creator is no longer working on FH+, and hasn't been heard from in years as far as I know. FH's team can't really yoink his work without his permission, even if he's not around to say no.

~ Combining all the maps together would spread out the members too much or result in a bunch of maps that feel empty and/or no longer get used. :C

To jump off of l3irdie's point though, I do miss how much more spread out the community was back in its height. The new maps weren't really to blame for that, though. Things just changed over time. General being Canceled, the Hackpocalypse/addition of the Play Game tab, the creation of other games similar to FH, and lots of other stuff played parts, I'd venture to guess.

❤ If it's dark and you can't see anything, but there isn't anything to see anyway, are you seeing in the dark?

❤ If you fold a pizza in half, does it become a sandwich? Or perhaps a calzone? A ravioli?

❤ What's the most useless piece of knowledge that you've ever learned, and why do you remember it if it's useless?

❤ Why are you so dang cool? >:3c

This thread's been here a while so you've probably already found an answer, but just in case you haven't, I'm pretty sure that Ctrl+J is a hotkey that instantly joins all selected meshes into a single mesh. It should maintain textures and UV maps too, unless you mess with them after joining your meshes.

Just go into Object Mode, press A to select everything, then Crtl+J to join.

Make sure you save before doing this, because as far as I know it's not reverseable (and I may also have the hotkey wrong, lmao! I'm in class rn so I can't check until later).

Regarding the texture issue, I'm not entirely sure what's causing that. I've never had an issue like this before. Maybe something about the way you're joining them currently is messing with the UVs? Maybe try reloading your textures and see if it helps. You can also check the UV's shape by selecting parts of the mesh in edit mode. They'll be stretched out or in funky shapes if the maps themselves have gone bad.

As last resort, you can always redo the UV mapping. That's going to be very tedious though, especially if your mesh is made of 30+ pieces and you're hoping to put all those textures on one image.

btw, I primarily use blender 2.49. I'm very sorry if any of this info isn't accurate for 2.79.
